One thing that appears to be common amongst IBOs is how IBOs are in denial. They truly believe that their uplines are working in their best interest and that upline wants their success. I don't believe that to be true. If uplines were truly making a fortune from Amway, why would an downline IBO have to pay for practically every bit of help they get from upline leaders?
To show the plan, you would need to pay to attend an open meeting, and pay for your guests, even if they do not register as a result of the presentation. You pay for voicemail to communikate with your upline and downlines. You pay for standing orders and you may end up paying twice if you were in attendance at the function when the standing order was recorded. You pay for books and other materials as well.
What's more, many IBOs turn their heads when ugly facts rear their heads. For example, some IBOs deny that a prominent triple diamond was involved in bankruptcy proceedings. They continue to edify and pay for financial advice from someone who could not even manage his own finances. They believe that Amway saves marriages even when the leaders who speak this may be getting divorced. It's like upline simply revises history and downlines buy it without question. Many IBOs do not even see it as a problem that some upline boldy lied and said there were no profits from tools in the past. I find this odd because tool profits are still shrouded in secrecy and downline simply believe that they will eventually get a cut, even without a written compensation plan and agreement.
I believe too many IBOs are simply in denial. They give upline their trust and upline abuses it. IBOs are told they are successful for attending a function even when they might be losing money month after month. They may be told that the Amway business is not about money but about making friends. They may be told that they are nicer people because of their participation in Amway. What too many IBOs do not see is that they are in denial about their business. Most IBOs are losing money, a little at a time, perhaps $100 or $150 a month. For the hardcore, maybe more. But they are taught to ignore these simple facts and deny that there is a problem.
It is my hope that exposure of some of these tactics will be beneficial to information seekers and perhaps new IBOs who have not yet been fully indoctrinated. I encourage people to ask tough questions, demand answers and use due diligence when checking out this oppportunity. The fact is that very few people every make a profit and people should know this before getting involved. Don't deny the obvious.
As long as you are in the zone - CDs, Books, seminars and rallies and hanging out with cults - all above are truthful and they try and find more prospects to fall into their trap
ReplyDeleteI'm a recovering Ambot after 5 years with Worldwide Dreambuilders. I suffered heavy, heavy losses due to the BSM propaganda. My spouse and I did everything it took to someday go Big. Broke 300pv idiots! When I finally decided to come back to earth from Mars, I was able to clearly recognize my financial damages from the years that I spent in the business. Everything is obvious when you're not listening to CDs. I'm still recovering and discovering true FREEDOM slowly. It is almost like getting out of the Mafia. My spouse are now deemed as losers and everyone we sponsored into the business treat us like the Black Plague. We try to communicate to them that this thing isn't right and watch the upline who is not progressing in this saturated possibility.
ReplyDeleteMy upline won't even like to speak of negative I found online, but who care. They talk about team work when they want you buy more stuff to achieve their 7500 pv, but when you struggle, they said its your business lol.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I am new IBO cause I like the product, but dislike my upline, wish there are honest way to do this to make everyone happy.
only in a perfect world...
DeleteWow, so much negative talk here! No wonder your results match up! So James Johnson, you're still recovering after 5 years? Can you then explain to me what's up with the Youtube video about Diamond Club 2012? Oh no? Really?! The guys in the video are paid actors, cheap, dirt bags with fake smiles? And yet it took some of them 5 years to be at Diamond Club! And they did it! You too could have been at Diamond Club but you found the easy way out.... it was too hard to qualify for Diamond Club! Well, it is, because this business is tough enough to weed out those who don't deserve it!
ReplyDeletestraight-up BS!
DeleteNo need to bash against Amway and its leaders. Look at yourself in the mirror first. Look at your ego, your work ethics, your attitude, and people skills, and communication skills first. If you have not improved in any of these areas for being in Amway business for one year or more, you truely deserve to ask serious questions to yourself first.
ReplyDeleteThe truth about Amway is simple - it is a real, legal business. There is always a risk of failure in any business. Amway is not an exception. However, if you keep your monthly operating cost low and monthly revenue more than your monthly operating cost, you will realize profits. The question is how to do that. The answer is very simple. Make some real customers, not your friends and families, who buy products from you on retail price. Friends and family members can become your customers later on but do not start with them first. Just test your marketing skills without them first. This will give you confidence and profit. The books, CDs, weekly meetings, business support materials, samples, and quarterly seminars expenses are your operating cost. If you add them up on annual basis and then divide by tweleve, your will have your monthly operating cost. Be careful here. Do no go more than three hundred dollars per month as an average if you are doing business in USA. I have calculated myself that books and CDs cost approximately $50 per month, weekly meetings cost approximately $30 per month on national average, quarterly seminar or function may cost you total $450 which means $150 per month if you are couple (this may vary depending upon whether you drive for the function or fly, whether you live alone in hotel room or share with your upline or downline), and approximately $70 per month on business support material such as brochure, product samples etc. Therefore your total monthly operating cost will be $300 (50+30+150+70). Off-course, this cost will vary depending upon which part of the country do you live in. The idea is to keep the monthly cost low. If you multiply $300 by 12, your total annual cost is $3600. If you multiply it by 5, your total operating cost in first FIVE years is $18000. Now during these five years, you will get monthly bonus checks, hopefully from the very first month if you are smart. For example, if you complete your 100 PV circle in the very first month and there is nobody in your team and you do not have any customer, you will still get a small check from Amway. Now, if you start working towards making retail customers, say $50 PV, you will get retail profit (retail - wholesale), and if you have a very small team of 4-5 active IBOs in first three months who are duplicating you in first three months, you will receive bigger checks from Amway because you are establishing yourself as a business leader. A business leader always serve his/her team other he/she will not have team. That is the open secret of Amway business which is in practice in all other businesses. Now, if you ADD all these checks in first five years, you will see realize revenue which will offset your $18000 OPERATING COST of first five years. It is true that very few people become Diamonds in Amway business. But it is also true that all active IBOs reach to diffferent level of success in first five years whether it is as modest as 4000 PV (half way of Silver) or silver or platinum, Ruby, Sapphire, Emeralad etc.. They all receive checks from Amway but their total operating cost is still $18000 in first Five years. In other words, they will defintely have profit in first five years and this profit will keep on increasing year after year because they have learned how to make their montly operating cost as FIXED vs VARIABLE. Also, because they have ambition, right attitude, strong work ethics, and have developed good marketing, people, and communication skills, they will start realizing profit much earlier than five years time frame. Amway business is designed for Success. People fail because of their own issues and blame Amway, which is not fair.
lmao
DeleteBefore Amway I had a pet styling salon, I paid for the lease, cages, tables, tools, shampoo, conditioner, tubs, blowers, my crew, the list is a MILE and a half long. In ANY business there is such a thing called business expense. In ANY business if you do not invest some capital & time into it, it will fail.
ReplyDeleteThis unreal expectation of signing up and being financially secure is the reason so many fail. Nowhere in the initial plan that you saw when becoming an IBO, did it say you can build this without hard work, and that you would not have any business expense. If that is how you think a business is built, you are not cut out to work for yourself.
And in Amway, you hace cds, voicemail, functions, books and other expenses. Except in a real business, the things you buy actually help your business most of the time.
