Don't Quit And You Will Succeed In Amway?

"Never Quit" was one of the things I often heard when I was an IBO. To quit seemed like the kiss of death as an IBO. I believe that the never quit mantra can be useful if the saying was meant to read as never quit trying, or never quit trying to better yourself. But in the Amway business, when uplines talk about never quit, what they mean is never quit doing 100 PV and never quit buying tools. Sometimes a wide business decision is to quit and do something else.

I find it ironic that so many IBOs think of the diamonds on stage as being mentors to them. In fact, these diamonds don't know most of their faithful downline IBOs. They don't know their personal circumstances or whether they are progressing in building their business, thus a blanket "never quit" statement is insincere at best. It seems that the never quit saying is a self serving thought, especially since the upline diamond benefits financially by an IBO staying on board with the Amway and the tools program.

When you stop and think for a moment, your upline benefits financially from almost every aspect of the business. You move 100 PV and you get 3% while somewhere upline, about 28 - 30% bonus gets shared by your sponsor and further uplines. Your voicemail account is profit for upline. Your website profits upline, standing order, book of the month and functions all pour money into your upline's pockets. In fact, it seems that IBOs pay through their teeth for almost every bit of information they receive, regardless of any success in Amway.

If your upline truly had vital information that would make your business grow, why would they want to withhold that information from downline? Maybe your uplines don't truly want your success? Maybe they only want your money? Is that why the "never quit" battle cry is made? Does your upline diamond take the time to get to know as many IBOs as possible on a personal level? Do they know your individual circumstances? Do they truly care about your success? If they did care, how could they stand on a stage and shout "never quit"?

Ironically, many - a - diamond did not take their own advice. Many a diamond has quit in recent years. Makes you wonder why someone would quit after achieving diamond? Makes you wonder why someone would quit when you can "walk the beaches" and continue to collect an income. Maybe this opportunity is not all that you have been led to believe?

  1. It would be interesting to hear from a diamond why he quit. Here in the uk diamonds quit at the time the deept of trade carried out its review of amway.

  2. Yeah, this is the reasonwhy my downlines still get calls from my up lines after leaving Amway months ago. There cannot be an automatic sponsoring in practice, how much ever they boast 'I already have a huge business coming up'. People I mean prospects do not think so much esepecially up front cost to join is so less. When they say 'we do not have advetisement costs, concentrated products and so on..' why is that products are not cheaper than the one in markets? Answer is, larger percentage is eaten by so called financially free diamonds. Similarly tools, one of my non Amway friend told me, 'you need to read books listen to business related information, but that should only be a starting point, what do you do with reading forever (like Standing Order Program)?'. Quite sensible question is it not? If you want to succeed becoming a direct selling agent or member (I was not allowed to use such words when I was made to be a cult) you need to have association but, that should not be the source of income to persons who joined earlier.

  3. Is it true that amway is still growing at a strong pace after the slow down in the nineties. Is this beacause the tools issue was cleaned up a bit. Or is the tools element still prominant but more insidously effective. In the uk the dept of trade forced many changes on tools , product pricing , income claims etc. Since then the business seems to have started growing again

    1. Amway is growing at a terrific rate. In the UK the tools system does not exist and is explicitly outlawed by Amway UK. I feel there is a clean up of this practice cetainly in Europe. I'm not 100% sure about some groups in the USA. Here in the UK it is sales business first and foremost, and really, if you can't make money retailing a product then maybe the sales business is not for you!

  4. don't quit and you will succeed in paying your uplines for their conditional mentorship. As a former platinum who decided to quit the system but did not give up my ibo# since i have quite a few clients, my income today is $500.
    By don't quit, they mean don't get out of the system so you can get system income. but that is only after you go platinum. i moved out of the system, started my own technical consulting firm on the side. made more $$ in 6 months than what i made in the first 5 years of the amway business cumulative. more rewarding giving people jobs/advice than stealing their savings in the form of worthless tools, cds especially. i like books and i am a reader, but cds.. yuck! that comes from somebody who was in the business 8 years and went platinum with 6 legs and 40 people.

  7. Very simply because they are not endorsed by Amway UK and neither are they part of the marketing strategy. If anyone needs self-help book then there are hundreds that can be bought at the local book store. Our business model here focuses on the plan and the retailing and should be good enough for everyone!

  9. Tool scam or tool help? I'm pretty sure it's different in every group. There are some groups who use it to an extreme measure and that's not good. However I'm to up on how the laws in the US allow these conditions to exist. It might be different depending on the state you live in. Ultimately the good guys who build their business according to Amway guidelines and without over promoting tools will win out.

    The tools don't work and it is the reason why so many IBOs end up with a net loss.

  11. In référence to tony robinson i went direct in ireland in mid eighties under amway uk. We worked then with an emphasis on sponsoring and retailing with periodic (cost free) meetings. I think there was a book and tape in the starter pack but. Other

  12. Cont other than this there were no tools. It seemed to me a valid business but difficult so not many would make it but nobody would lose out. Tony may know better as i went to canada so lost touch with the uk. But i believe there were a few shady diamonds in the uk in the ninetees. Buying lines of sponsorship , introducing tools etc. I believe mc cune was on to tools before disappearing. I also believe amway cleaned all that up under dept of trade scruting. Now its a fair but tough business. From what i read on the blog the usa haS gone crazy on tools. How can anyoone agree to sign up to all that and spend all that money every month. Im tempted to start showing those people they can run after their dream without spending money. Might be an idea to got to an enterprise weekend and show the plan with no spending needed i

  13. I have recently been contacted frOm a person from amway here in Vermont USA. I am skeptical but it all sounds do good. The the phrase of it sounds too good to be true it usually is keeps popping up in my mind. How many ppl must I get to join to make profits? Economy here in Vermont and most of the USA is suffering I can't really afford start up costs but here I am 4 th meeting with this man who is trying to get me to join. Brugger69@ me.com

I think you need to sponsor 1000 people per month into your group to start to make money; You will have about 4 people in 5 dropping out or doing nothing so a net of 200 per month building the business and sponsoring; This would give you 2400 people after a year or 2 and 5000 2 years later. Of course it might take longer or shorter to get to 1000 a month; But there is a multiplier factor that kicks in; If you have 200 in your group sponsoring you obviously recruit more than when you have only 10 sponsoring

    Of course you dont need to sponsor these directly yourself ; You probably need to sponsor 10 or so directly as a minimum to have at least 3 legs working ; 6 legs would be the target so to have that you might need to sponsor directly 15 to 20 people

    Also you need to refuse these tools rip off; Just buy a leadership book in a local store and say 2 tapes from amway ; If you cant do it with that , then buying 5 tapes a week wont be any better

    Now you may sponsor a Dexter Yaeger and you will be fine; More than likely you will sponsor a friend or 2 and that will be the end of it;
