Go Platinum In Amway - Less Than A 1% Chance?

Many people consider the platinum level in Amway as a significant achievement in Amway. While it may be nice to achieve that level and gain recognition from the Amway corporation, I will point out that there was a study done in Wisconsin where the attorney general analyzed and found that platinums on average, lost money. The study is somewhat dated, but I will also point out that today, there are MORE expenses associated with running an Amway business than before. (Voicemail, books, functions, standing orders, shipping). I would guess that it's possible that platinums lose more today than when the Wisconsin study was done.

A typical platinum group often has 100 ore more downline IBOs. Also, there are many many IBOs who sign up and do little or nothing. Thus a logical conclusion is that less than 1% of IBOs can reach that level. It is also, apparently rare to maintain that level. My former upline diamond had 7 frontline platinums in his heyday. Actually, 6 of them were ruby level. None of them hold the platinum level today. So you have a less than 1% chance of reaching platinum and then you are unlikely to be able to maintain that level.

What serious prospective business owner would even consider opening a business where you have such a tiny chance of success? Even those who achieve platinum are likely to lose that level. If platinums cannot maintain their level, then it's easy to see why there are former diamonds as well. It seems that people are willing to take a chance on an Amway business because the start up cost is low. But what is the point of doing all of that when the chance of making money is negligible?

To compound the problem, many IBOs spend a lot of time and money building an Amway business that is unlikely to give them any return on their investment. I'd guess that the average serious IBO would spend $250 a month of more on tools. That money invested over a number of years in mutual funds would give you a much better chance of achieving some dreams. Even putting the money in the bank would make you better off than the vast majority of IBOs. A serious business owner would want to know their realistic chance of making money. For some strange reason, prospects and IBOs seem to ignore this reality.

It is because uplines are in the business of selling tools and distributorships. They are not truly interested in your long term sustainable success. If you don't believe me, try to stop purchasing standing orders and function tickets and see how much longer you are edified and given help from upline. Seriously, would a real business owner be interested in a less than 1% chance of success?

  1. I dropped my Communikate and i got a call from my upline asking why? I said I don't want to pay 40 bucks a month to call into a phone version of facebook.

He said I had to plug in to get ahead. Plug in? You mean when I did call in/login to that stupid CommuniKate to hear about how our Diamond just got out of the shower and that he was FIRED UP that was supposed to help me get ahead in life? Fucking please.

  2. KATE is a scam. Why the heck does anyone need voice mail when you have text messaging, twitter, face book and email these days?

  3. Yeah no shit.

Their response? "Somethings are better said via talking/voice than through a text" "The message is better conveyed through actual talking than typed out words"

"Hey guys just wanted to let you know I just got back from the Doctor's office. Said my Vitamin B level is low. I am FIRED UP" totally worth 40 a month to hear that.

  8. set a goal for yourself. If your goal is to be someones little lap dog and do what they say when they say it then enjoy your 9-5, because your going to be doing that the rest of your life. Enjoy being average

    1. Dr. Use a few products yourself that you find yourself interested in. Don't buy everything or stock pile then at your home. Buy only 3 or 4 that you think are useful to you. Study them, find out everything about them and then start offering these products to the people you know. Take the help of your up line in showing product demos in the beginning. Remember, product sales bring money, recruiting alone doesn't. And if you yourself do not have confidence in products, you can't promote it to anyone, trust me

  10. What are the chances in other professions? You would say success is different for different people. How many people apply to Medical schools, how many actually get into it, how many actually graduate and finally hoe many actually become financially successful?
How many people start business in America?, How many actually go beyond 1 year, how many can actually say after 5 years that they are well off financially?. The percentages quoted are same for all fields brother. It takes hard work consistently over the period of time with a lot of sacrifice. Nothing comes easy. Forget diamond, evenif one becomes emerald , let's say in 10 years, still it is worth it as one can have a decent living standard ni matter what part of the world one us in.

  11. Your chance in other professions or businesses (not MLM) are far greater than Amway where you have about a 1/4 of 1 percent chance of going platinum where you allegedly begin to break even or make a small profit.

  12. I was in Amway in Southern Illinois for two and half year busted my ass. They said give it to years on faith and the results will blow your mind, they sure did I was over 13000 in credit card debt had no ibos and was broke as a joke. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightening or going to Mars they you do obtaining platinum in Amyway forget diamond than it becomes like one in 10 or 100 thousand. In my group will I was there we had over 300 IBOs who registed and we had only 1 Platinum or I should say rubbie. that is 1/300 in my group. Four years later I met up with this person who went rubbie and found out he quit the business. He told me he was making a lot more in his medical profession and the time he had to spend in Anyway versus the money he was making for the time he put in was not worth it. This is coming from a Rubbie guy. I found out today that after 10 years they finally had another person obtain Platinum status, I started in 2006 and finished in 2008 so I would guess in 10 years they had at least 1000 to 3000 people who seen the plan. so even if you count the former rubbie who quit and the platinum you got 2 out of 1000 to 5000 people who made it. much less than one percent try one in 1000. I also was not happy with the leaders at the conference who stressing that we go into credit card debt if we have to succeed. The foolish person I was I listened and sure enough I went into debt, I had a great credit history before this and now after 10 years my credit has been restored. Its not worth it folks you have a better chance of starting your own business and succeeding or even better off investing . I hate to sound like I m trolling Amyway but I can tell you from my experience and from those I knew who was also in the same time I was it not worth it and you should find another way to make money and dont let Amyway BS you that they are the only way, they are not there are many way.

  13. I can't speak to the percentages, but I can speak to my experience. I was in the business for 18 months, and lost, I will say that again LOST close to $20000. I was expected to generate 300PV ($900) a month no matter what. Even if I couldn't get customers I was told to buy the product myself. There were monthly area functions between $15 and $30 a function, tools and fees were about $150 a month. I went to 5 large functions with tickets pricing being $150-$175 a function and travel costs were on average $600 per. I made back about $25 a month and about $600 in my tax return. I constantly told my upline I was struggling financially. I was told to use my credit card, sell plasma, drive UBER. Do whatever it took to invest in my business. It's hard to put into words the amount of pressure that is put on you. I was told if I listened to my Kates, attended functions, and had faith I would succeed. Well I did all that, and I got numbers and sat down with 73 people in 18 months. I launched no one. There was 1 ruby and 1 platinum in my area. My upline and his upline were dirt poor and sold plasma monthly.
