Is Amway The Least Efficient Way To Move Product?

I remember seeing the plan as a prospect back over a dozen years ago. I remember the speaker talking about how you can capitalize on distribution efficiencies to make money. We as IBOs would simply cut out the middleman and that savings would be psssed onto us as IBOs. In its simplest form, it made sense and and misconception passed onto the audience that you will actually save money by ourchasing Amway products. I even remember the speakers saying that even if the whole world signed up for Amway, even the last guy getting would would have the benefir of saving money. Looking back now, much of it was deception and lies. And to think, people now and back then paid good money for training on how to become, in my opinion, the least efficient manner in which to move products.

We recently enjoyed the Superbowl. And as you know, superbowl commercials can cost millions of dollars. But do you know why? It's because hundreds of millions of people across the world are tuned into the superbowl. Companies probably have their best staff working on developing these commercials because they want to leave a lasting impression on their viewers. And it apparently works because people today are still willing to shell out serious coin for these commercials.

Amway IBOs advertise person to person, one person at a time.

What are the chances of an IBO ever moving a significant amount of products or being able to reach out to potential new downline when they prospect person to person, face to face, one at a time? To me, that is the most inefficient manner of expanding business. And let's face it, Amway's rules don't help when you are not supposed to advertise online without special permissions and you are not supposed to sell product on Ebay or Craigslist. In today's technological society, it seems almost crippling to be so inefficient.

And even your beloved uplines, at your expense, run the most inefficient manner of doing business. Who needs voicemail when we have facebook, email, twitter or text messaging? Not to mention the added expense IBOs face by these outdated technologies. Also, with video conferencing, skype, or webcams, why do people need to travel long distances for meetings and functions? The answer is simple, your upline might not want your success, they simply might just want your money. All of the training and motivation is a profit center for upline and modernizing would simply reduce their tool profits.

Try asking that of your upline. Why do we keep using the most expensive and inefficient means of doing business and communicating? I'd be curious to hear that answer.

  1. You are on bitter S.O.B. who could not build this business so now you have become an armchair quarterback who sits at a keyboard criticizing people who want more out of life and are willing to work for it. What have you contributed to others? Why don't you make suggestions for people out there if your so smart and know something about making a second income. If you spent more time working Amway instead of bitching, you might be a double diamond by now.

  2. What ever gave you the idea that I was bitter? I'm quite happy with my life. It sounds like you're bitter that I run this blog. By the way, I built the business to 4000 PV so how can you claim that I could not build the business?

  3. Speaking of diamonds Anon, why not ask your diamond why they use the most expensive method of communication?

    Truly, ask him!

    See what the answer is.

  4. JoeCool;

We were 4000s too. Cost a fortune to keep that charade up.

Amazing how the 'bots come to these blogs and spew their bitter hatred toward we who finally grew a pair and got out while we still had some integrity left.

I don't pay to have friends, unlike IBOs who pay for every function.

Here's how to test upline friendship: see how often they invite you over for an afternoon b-b-q when you don't run 100 pv each month. You are their 'bestest' buddy as long as you keep spending and showing up, Idiot.

  5. That's right. Your Amway upline's loyalty to you is tied to functions and money spent on tools. If you stop, they stop.

  6. But Joe he can't ask his Diamond or anyone else that. Did you forget the "never question upline" rule?

  7. Never question upline. They would never do anything to purposely steer you wrong. "bangs heead on wall".

  8. Joe this is brilliant. the reason the kingpins use the methods they do is to try to maintain mental and financial control of their bots. As the revolt in Egypt showed, the time is passed for that crap. We won't stand for it anymore. BOTS wake up!!!!1

  9. What is truly amazing is how upline can state that 2 + 2 = 5 and their downline will believe it. I've been following the blog of a WWDB IBO and you can see him progressively getting more and more indoctrinated. It's really quite scary. It wasn't so bad at first but now the IBO is outright lying to make his points.

  11. Yes, you were 4000 PV but your business structure was poorly laid out. That's why you didn't make the kind of money you were hoping to make. When I registered a thought came to my mind quite early on; instead of me finding 6 people who find 4 who find 2 each, why don't I just find one person who will find 6 people who find 4 who find 2 each? After-all, I still get 7500 PV and 50K/year!!! Sadly, as I found out, in doing so, I would net out only about $700/month instead of $5700/month. Structure is the key baby! BIG DIFFERENCE! So, I got serious about it and went for my 6 people! Did it all go just as advertised? No, but I earn a good $4000-4500 per month. Do I plan to stop here? No! I plan to go 100K/year by December 2011. So remember, business structure is vital for profitability. Stop whining and get to work!

  12. I was 4000 PV and I had eagle parameters. That's poorly laid out?

So what if you eanr $4000 a month if your expenses nearly wipe that out? Your bank job netted more cash.

  13. My Amway expenses are WAY FAR from wiping out my monthly Amway earnings. Or are you referring to my general, every day expenses? If yes, then there really is nothing to argue about. The same can be said about anyone whose job income also equals my Amway monthly income. For your information, I make almost twice as much from Amway than any other job I ever had.

  14. Your Amway income is double your job income? What was your job? Working 2 hours a week for minimum wage? LOL

If you did make a significant income, why do you post as an anonymous coward with no credibility?

  15. Buddy Joe, my J.O.B was from 9 in the morning till 6 in the evening, Monday to Friday, working as a customer service representative. I was making about $2360/month. So don't you think that maybe, JUST MAYBE, $4000/month from Amway isn't a little bit, JUST A TINY LITTLE BIT, MORE than $2360? So what if I earn $4000/month you ask? Buddy Joe, I think that you're aware of $4000 figure being TOO REAL TO YOU, it's just that you were nowhere near that and now you're bitter about it. Why am I there and you aren't? Don't know and don't want to know. All I see is your bitterness and complacency. So shut up!

  16. and how much of that 4K, o great one, do you keep for yourself???

    yeah, i thought so.

  17. please talk about the effectivity of the product , probability of selling, the price and that promise of 100 percent money back within 90 days is this real?

  18. I've been in the "business" for a little over a month now and I can say this...

Product: Amway is paired up with Artistry and Nutrilite. Two companies which both produce pretty cool products. Artistry is in the top 5 percent of the premium cosmetic industry. Nutrilite produces health and wellness products. Do your research on either and you'll find out what you want to know.

Probability of selling? If you're thinking that your friends and family are just gonna jump in and sign up, well maybe, but probably not. You'll have to travel outside your personal boundaries to market your business.

Price: Some would say that it is overpriced, and some stuff is, but when you compare how much you get for what you're paying, you'll see that some options, if not most, are cheaper in the long run.

And the 100% money back gaurantee? It's not 90 days, it's actually 180, and they send you a return slip and postage with your order.

    1. Ahahaha awesome! The products are awesome, and so is the guarantee of your money back! Excuse people who don't see potential when it's poking them in the nose. If they stopped being so critical, they could see the potential that this op has.

    2. the products are overpriced. does that make me critical or honest? hmmm...

  19. so here's the million dollar question. I'm a IBO of 6 months but have dont little in the way of making sales and this is the reason why.
You buy at Amway prices for an IBO which are equal to or more what you pay at Walmart. Look at any comparable Nutrilite or L.O.C. product...and compare # of uses to dollar amount. 9 out of10 items your paying slightly above retail price at Walmart to what Amway says is a "wholesale price". Now you're supposed to mark this up 10-30% and sell at their suggested "retail" price. Who in their right mind would buy? It would be one thing if you could argue that these products are FAR superior to what's out there but truth is (test have been done through out the decades)...The products are mediocre in potentncy and effectiveness.. how can I justify paying 50% more for a product when a well known name brand is that much cheaper and just as good?
If Amway really had "wholesale prices" and we could retail them for alot cheaper and make profit...then this business would be more successfull for those who joined...
The products are good. their prices are whats keeping me from really being behind the company 100% and being able to convince people why this is such a good opportunity.

    Anyone agree? disagree?

    1. Chris you are right. For this reason, many IBO's are taught to buy their own products and they end up not being able to sell anything. You'd think wholesale would mean it's cheaper than other goods but paying more makes it almost impossible to sell.
