To this day, I still see people who like to hide the Amway name when recruiting others. I believe this tactic has been a major factor in why Amway has a bad reputation in North America. When I was recruited, I was lied to as well. I was invited to a "beer bust" only to find out it was an Amway meeting. I went home that night thinking WTF was that? They lie to us and then expect us to join the business. And to this day, I believe this practice continues.
Over the years, IBOs have tried all kinds of ways to disguise the Amway opportunity. It was network marketing, e-commerce, online shopping mall and the corporation even changed Amway in North America to "Quixtar". Sadly, the name change to quixtar did not work, probably because the same tactics were used when recruiting new IBOs into Quixtar. Amway eventually changed the name back to Amway. I believe this bad reputation in North America is why Amway seems to be enjoying the mos business growth overseas where people either do not know the Amway name, and likely because there haven't been enough former Amway/AMO victims to soil the name in other countries.
So IBOs, how can you expect someone to trust you and do business with you if you are deceitful or outright lie about the Amway opportunity? Are you ashamed of the Amway name? If you are ashamed or scared to drop the "A bomb" on people, how will you ever be able to show any plans, let alone sponsoring anyone into the business? My former sponsor used to tell our group that the biggest challenge is overcoming the name Amway. To be fair, Amway the corporation is not the reason for the bad reputation. It is the unethical and bad behavior of IBOs that lead to a bad reputation buy on the other hand, it's not the like Amway police have been cracking down and visibly taking action against the violators so Amway is also guilty to some degree.
Conversely, people who come right out and talk about Amway are unlikely to net any decent results either because of the past reputation. It's an almost no-win situation for IBOs and prospects. For these reasons, I believe it to be nearly impossible to build and maintain a group, especially if your goal is to reach diamond. It seems as if more diamonds have left Amway in recent years than there have been new diamonds. I believe this to be spot on for WWDB, my former LOS. So IBOs, are you ashamed of Amway? If not, why are there still so many IBOs using trickery and deception in recruiting prospects?
I was lied into it last March. My upline gave me a macro view of the success. He said by simply recruiting 3 legs, it should start a fast wave downline and told me I could reach my goal of $500/month residual income by the end of the summer and I bought into it. Slowly I figured this is all b.s. when he handed me like 5 copies of CD's to listen to almost every 3 days. When we met up for meetings (and I only listen to them because I knew he would ask me which CD I enjoyed) he would happily hand me MORE CDs. He took a freakin' binder with him and I thought, "damn..... this is going to be brainwashing." All I wanted was some extra side cash to help me with my car payment. But there was weekly meetings which he would put words on my mouth by txtng me "Hey u ready for tonite?! Lots of great information!" when I never said I was going. I had to find a way out soon. It was embarising when he called my friends and they would call me asking me what was going on, and he would be there guiding me what to say. I completed the 150PV points for March, did the calculations and notice I was going to make $15. That's when I realize "F this. I'm out." I completely dissappeared from the business when we had a meeting and he gave me some advice. He told me "When you meet up aquentainces, try to give me leverage with the business. The more leverage, the better. You see, this give them an impression of our success. Tell them I'm about to complete Phase 1 ($2000-2500/month) and call me. When you introduce me, I would set up a meeting. After we hang up, tell your friend 'oh man, did he actually make some time for you? That means he sees potential from you'" Basically lie to people. I have morals and for him, who he says is a Christain and goes to church every Sunday, how is going to explain that to St. Peter at Heaven's Gate? I mean c'mon! This guys is hypocritical. He has been calling me and leaving voicemails to return. This guy is desperate for the AmWay Dream. He doesn't know he is chasing an illusion.
ReplyDeleteExplain to St. Peter at Heaven's Gate? Oh friend, how you have been fooled into Catholicism! Saints? I laugh! Your God denies approaching saints or angels! Your God wants you to approach Him in Jesus' name! Catholicism does not get you to God, it gets you to Hell! Purgatory? I wish! Another lie! Yet Amway, is as real as Heaven where my Heavenly Father resides! You can make it but remember that narrow and rugged is the road that leads there and few ever find it! You have chosen the broad and smooth road because you were found wanting but not pursuing! I laugh at you! Haaaaaa. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, the anon from Canada aka "lucifer: reappears.
ReplyDeleteHow much money have you lost in Amway thus far? You still working as a janitor for the bank?
Ambots are so used to lying in general, they even are programmed to lie to themselves, so asking for a straight answer from one is futile. Constant tool/function brainwashing teaches that "up is down and down is up and being in debt in Amway is equal to making money in the real world". But, hey, they have a dream. Their god "money" tells them so. Too bad that while being in Amway they won't see too much of "him". lol
ReplyDeleteanother reason i'm glad i'm a fucking ATHIEST!
ReplyDelete**proud Amway hater**
I'm in Thailand currently a freshman in Uni. Amway made their way into indoctrinating uni students. My senior introduced me to the book 'Rich dad poor dad' and explained the theories. They were interesting and he invited me to join a "SEMINAR" on getting rich and becoming an entreprenuer. I went. Yes the first half an hour they showed us video clips of self-made millionaires
ReplyDeleteand introduced themselves cleverly by mentioning quotes from successful multi-millionaires. The next 2 and a half hour was advertising and indoctrinating uni students with positive lights of Amway. It was obvious everyone sitting there were deceived about the true purpose and content of the s
Really...I am going trust the foul mind and mouth of Lucifer and Joe Cool...both attack a secondary idealism, with polluted spewing of the mouth, instead of rebuffing and fairly discussing logically, the primary issue. Really. Why post people, why post. at all. Business does not work that way people.
ReplyDeleteAudience, anonymous's mind is what happens when you are on Amway.
ReplyDeleteI came here wanting to read about people's XP with Amway and there methods except i find myself reading another debate of religious beliefs... Such a lack of intelligence on the "Keeping on track" life skill...
ReplyDeleteAmway is brain washing! It's true.!!! I'm in Thailand. Today my school friend had an appointment with me. We didn't meet each other for almost 10 years. I was surprised and I thought it was good to see long lost friend again but later I found out that it was Amway tactic!!! We didn't have a real reunion.... I felt so upset ...
