Amway IBOs Are Suckers?

Quick disclaimer, I was once an IBO. Therefore, I was once a a sucker myself. Of course, back when I was an IBO, it wasn't so simple to google Amway and find so much information. Basically, I was fed many lies about the business and the training system. I was fed the 2-5 year plan. On the surface, it sounds very reasonable and achievable. However, the reality is that the Amway reputation is so tarnished that it's nearly impossible to get people to see the plan, let alone actually sponsoring people into your downline.

I was also told that the training system was vital and that nobody had eve succeeded without it. Of course, that is a lie because some of the current diamonds and crowns pre-date the emergence of tools. Also, the reality that maybe only 1 out of tens of thousands of IBOs achieve diamond in the US should be an indicator of your likely results. Many dream of diamond, but very few ever get anywhere near that level. Even those who do achieve diamond, likely find it nearly impossible to maintain it. This is evidenced by the number of diamonds who fail to qualify and end up quitting. Seems that only the ones who profit from the tools stick around. It looks like the tools is where the "residual" income comes from. But that income is from constant traveling and working and not from walking the beaches sipping exotic drinks.

Amway also charges exorbitant prices for some of their products. Take double x, basically Amway's flagship vitamin product. It retails for nearly $80 while IBO pricing is around $59. A site visitor once left me a message that Amway employees (not IBOs) can purchase double x from Amway for around $12. I tried to confirm with with Amway and they did not confirm it. I believe that Amway could probably make a healthy profit selling double x for about $17. Let's not even get into Amway's perfect water (bottled water) which retails for nearly $50 a case.

The somewhat entertaining part, is that with all the reputation issues and high prices, is that many IBOs are convinced that they need an endless supply of training in order to succeed. Some upline even have the gall to tell their audience to look at the fruit on the tree. Well, the trees are barren with the leaves falling off, like many trees in the winter. Basically, Amway and the AMOs survive by continuously recruiting new and unsuspecting suckers to join. If you truly believe your upline cares about you, try missing a few functions and see if they still edify you. Many people have been suckered in the past. Hopefully, with readily available information, the tools scam will finally die.

my my... so informed you are. You clearly know little about retailing. The retail prices can be 2 to 3 times the cost to make the product. There are lots of costs associated with getting a product to market... plus don't forget profit... 15% would be ideal. Now with Amway. We have NO ONE between IBOs and the manufacturer (AMWAY).. that's why our comp plan is so profitable.

No, retailers often mark up 15 to 20% to cover their overhead and to make a profit. Amway has noone between them and the IBOs? Take your head out of your ass and look. You have upline, downline, downline, downline and downline between Amway and the customer.

Joe- What year did you quit the Amway business? The reason I ask is that the business has changed quit a bit from the 1990's when you were in for your 6 months. Its crazy that you have posted thousands of negative posts and literally devoted your life to this cause all the while you could have put that energy into time with your family or your job.

You are a has been and when it's all said and done no one will remember your name. But they will remember Rich Devoss and Jay Van Andel, Ron Puryear, Bill Britt, etc.

anon @12:22, what has changed about Amway other than the online shipping? Same overpriced products, same low success rate of IBOs and the tools scam is still going.

Anon @12:28 Critics are important. It's like having an auditor. Checks and balances. I know the Amwayers think you should have no negative in your lives, but that would be like not being able to feel pain, which would result in you having all kinds of problems.

Rich Devoss, Jay Van Andel, Ron Puryear and Bill Britt will indeed be remembered... for the lying, deceitful, soulless crooks that they are who lured in and brainwashed thousands of people with a pyramid scheme designed to empty the wallets and bank accounts of "dreaming" sheep while destroying families and friendships along the way. The Amway cult leaders are certainly in good company with the folks you mentioned, Joe.

I like how fucknuts assume things. If you would have bothered to read Joe's "About Me" bio (look to the right column, dummy), you'd see he had built it up to a 4000 PV business but discovered it still wasn't a profitable business when one factors in the "net" income per month versus "gross". That's where Amway tries to trick their sheep.

Dream all you want. Heck, I dream of one day sprouting wings and flying. But wishing really, really hard and putting up pictures of birds on my refrigerator isn't going to make it happen, nor make a flawed system magically work.

Joe is simply trying to shine the light of truth on a crooked system that depends on finding new naive victims to pick their bones clean at the bottom of the pyramid in order to make money. He doesn't tell you "quit Amway". If you like losing money, hey, go for it. All he is saying is "take off the blinders" and visit reality once in a while.

I totally agree with you Joe! Unfortunately I am one of those suckers right now.. I joined on board 3 weeks ago and although im doing damn good for a new IBO with 2 people sponsored under my belt, I can clearly see now that something is clearly wrong. I noticed that we as IBO's are spending waaaay too much on products.. That 150PV is for the birds and if im not careful I will be in debt.. So with that said either im going to back out of trying to build the business and just become a prosumer (reap some of the benefits without selling the business) or leaving it completely. I dont like the meetings every week and the functions you must attend and all the business materials.. sucks!

Ya I was achieving more than 12500 PV recently but found out some truth since you will find out majority of people stay in Amway are not so highly educated. Those highly educated and successful may become Diamond and they just act as a powerhouse without telling them the real risk and truth. They call Amway nearly no risk. How comes Amway business has no
risk? I got a friend in my hometown which is a young boss with monthly income of more than 4000 dollars. One day his friend called him to do Amway and he finally convinced by his friend*s upline since he*s a founder emerald. When he decided to do Amway he closed his business and full time commitment in Amway. He*s in this business for more than 2 years but he*s already lost more than 20k in this business. Because Amway never teach you how to leverage your own finance and risk, they just motivate you with positive mindset and truth(you should know Amway got many negative truth also). You can do it, go Diamond!! blah...
Another friend who is a Ruby with Founder Platinum, next month he will become Sapphire. Maybe many people in my organization will envy his progress why so fast and effective. The truth is he*s storing more than 50k of inventories inside his house as they just call it worthy investment, which better than FD. And in the end of every month he must 'motivate' and 'encourage' his downlines to buy more so they can hit the target score as core leaders. For sure all of them will happy because of their hardwork they can earn more. They did it but ... how about your expenses. The expenses you cover will even more them the incrememt of extra bonus of that particular month. If not, you will just believe in yourself you are selling world*s greatest product to your prospects and business partners (it is better than downline) so you deserve to earn more profit. In fact what do you earn more got somebody pay premium for you. I would say Amway products are great, but not all products are really worthy enough. I would say Double X is a very worthy and affordable supplement but protein powder may not be so worthy enough since it is just around 500g . Some people even bluffed with me for Nutrilite have Taiwan size of certified Organic Plantation Land. Sorry about that Nutrilite has just own 6400 ft sq (25 km sq) of certified organic plantation land, how comes a Taiwan size plantation land??? I saw the process of making supplement presented by my upline since he was travelling back from Las Vegas from ALS 2015 but everyone should accept the fact. Nutrilite only own 25 km sq of land how can Amway supplied all supplement made solely by it*s own Nutrilite farm? My family possess our own agriculture empire in my own country in collaboration with government. How could I don*t know how much vegetables and fruits you can supply with just 25 km sq of Nutrilite farm !!! Who don*t want the people know about it. Plus all Nutrilite supplements are extracted in concentrate phytonutrient form, it will waste more vegetables and fruits than you can imagine.For sure Nutrilite got a very strict system to control it*s quality but everyone should know the fact that not all your supplements are really as organic as they said. But it is safe enough. If some GNC product got warehouse discount you can consider to buy some supplement from GNC since every consumers will think the difference between GNC and Nutrilite are the organic issues matter. Since Nutrilite Certified Organic farm only got 25 km sq of size. So the 'organic' issue already discovered and consumers have the right to buy products which will benefit more for them. If all of the supplements are really organic then the size of the organic farm will not be that small. You should remember Nutrilite Organic farm is really got very strict standard that Amway wants to maintain the Nature nutritional value of soil so it will recover slower than commercial farm.The supply of Nutrilite is impossible from just a total of 25 km size of organic farm.
