Perpetuating The Scam?

The diamonds have been laughing all the way to the bank for decades now.  Sone diamonds use this to justify their actions as levy because surely a scam would have been uncovered and shut down.  To that I say organized crime is older than Amway and alive and well.  So is the Nigerian scam and other similar variations.  The LOS such as WWDB or Network 21 continue to roll on using Amway as their vehicle.

The scheme is quite subtle and clever.  They often target younger folks who see their careers just starting thus they have a long journey towards retirement. The diamonds say you will work hard but Amway is a great shortcut to early retirement and possibly untold wealth.  At meetings and functions, they show things to entice recruits into joining and for IBOs to drool over as a reason to press forward.

The diamonds say they basically hold the secrets to unlocking this secret to succeeding in Amway.  But to unlock that secret you will need to dedicate yourself to the tools and functions with undying loyalty.  They say if you never quit you will eventually cross that finish line sort of like running a marathon.  Sounds like something that most people can do if they just set their minds to it.

What goes unnoticed is that the ultimate goal is like finding the end of a rainbow.  It will always be seemingly out of reach.  But upline says do not despair, just continue to immerse yourself in the tools and functions and you will make it.  As if consumption of tools and functions alone will make you a success.  Amway for sone, becomes an addiction, like a drug user or someone hooked on smoking.  It’s hard to quit plus you start to think you invested too much to just quit.

And that’s how the diamonds continue to perpetuate a scam.  They instill a fear in you that quitting makes you a broke loser and that quitting means you have no hope for a good financial future.  That quitting can’t be an option.  But in business, sometimes quitting is the best decision.  Cut your losses.  It doesn’t mean you’ve quit trying to better yourself and your family.  But it might mean you just need a better way to achieve your goals and dreams. There are many better options besides Amway.  You just need to go get it.

Amway deliberately targets people who are naive and ignorant. That would mostly be young persons who have no real experience of life, or older persons who were born genetically stupid.

The younger persons have a chance, because pretty soon they come to gain the experience that tells them what a lousy rip-off Amway is. If they're lucky, this will happen within six months or so, and they will get out of the corrupt Amway racket quickly, and with little loss of time and money.

The older persons who join (because they are innately stupid) are less fortunate. They will be the ones who will BELIEVE and BELIEVE and BELIEVE, like brainless donkeys, for long years to come.

Amway wants both groups, but the older persons are generally more dependable as an income source.

Not sure if anyone else has heard this guilt-trip line, but our organizational "leaders" used scream, "IF YOU HAVE SPONSORED A DOWNLINE, YOU HAVE GIVEN UP YOUR RIGHT TO QUIT!"

Just another way for them to guilt you into sticking around and wasting more money.

Telling people that they "don't have the right" to do something perfectly legal, like quitting a business, is a sure sign of a CULT. Only slaves and cultists don't have the right to make their own decisions.

What still amazes me is that IBOs in Amway are totally willing to act as if they were slaves, obliged to follow every single command given by some up-line asshole. Are these IBOs American citizens, or are they medieval serfs?

Amway IBOs are what psychologists call "other-directed," meaning that they are desperate to follow the orders and suggestions of other people, for the purpose of gaining acceptance and love and security.

Some people can't live without being told what to do, or without following some sort of accepted pattern for everything. They are slaves to public opinion, which for them is the Word of God.

Amway myths.

Myth: The secret to a good business is to not ever give up and quit.
Truth: On the contrary, the secret is not flogging a dead horse for emotional reasons. Not quitting when the numbers don't support your path can seriously compromise future prospects of wealth creation. No successful real business owner will tell you that no quitting any endeavor ever is secret to their success. Sure, don't get despondent, or fall into hopelessness if one thing does not work out, try something new. Yes to that. Blanket "no quitting". NO!! "Don't quit" is code for ignore the numbers, forget about sound book keeping that may tell you it may be time to reconsider.

This goes for many myths about business:

Take hard work, being teachable, and invest in your business.

"Hard work" is code to ignore results of efforts, suffering creates a kind of karma that will be rewarded. In reality, many businesses fail because owners spend too much energy on non income generating activities. Hard work in that sense is a killer of businesses.

"Be teachable, don't reinvent the wheel, follow the path that is trusted and proven" is code for blindly follow your upline, don't get distractive by objective advice. It is also the opposite of what every business owner will tell you, of finding the differentiating edge, that times and customer needs change.

"Invest in your business" is the antithesis of keeping an eye on costs, especially overhead costs that are not directly involved in creating revenue, which in reality is the nemesis of many businesses.
