2-5 Years To What?

One of the things I heard as an Amway IBO, and is still promoted is the concept of a 2-5 year plan to financial freedom. As a prospect, 2-5 years of hard work in your spare time sounds reasonable. After all, anyone can work an extra 12 hours a week for a couple of years with that kind of reward awaiting you at the end. The sad reality is that you are likely to suffer 2-5 years of financial losses without getting any closer to financial freedom.

When Amway morphed into Quixtar, a very relevent question was how many diamonds were "quixtar only", meaning they signed up in 1999 when quixtar was implemented and then became diamonds in the advertised 2-5 years. As far as I know, there were very few (if any) new diamonds. The new diamonds that were named all seemingly came from other countries, not the US or Canada. Even now, my former LOS (WWDB) is touting "double eagle rubies" which is not a recognized achievement by Amway (as far as I know), and there is no assurance that achieving such a level makes an IBO profitable.

Even today, I do not see a stead stream of new diamonds emerging from Amway. If the 2-5 year plan actually worked, there would be new diamonds constantly emerging. Instead, my former LOS (WWDB), actually has fewer diamonds now than back in my IBO days. And of those diamonds who remain, some of them had home foreclosed and it also appears that at least a few of them ran into some financial difficulties. Make me wonder what a diamond's finances actually look like. I suspect many of them live in debt, especially if they flaunt the "diamond lifestyle", which is probably not sustainable on diamond income as reported by Amway.

So while it might be possible to achieve diamond in 2-5 years (some have done it), but tens of millions have tried. It is much more likely that you will win the lottery (provided you have a ticket) than it is likely that you will join Amway and go diamond. It is also unlikely that people in the US and Canada who join will go diamond in the advertised 2-5 years. The 2-5 year plan is not promoted by Amway, but by the LOS leaders. I believe it is a hoax and the numbers back up my claim. You are much more likely to be better off working part time for 2-5 years and saving and investing for your future. If not, you will end up with 2-5 years of losing money on functions and standing orders.

As many Amway leaders will state: Look at the fruit on the tree. In the US and Canada, the trees are bare.

Honestly, I read one article of yours and was counting the errors in each paragraph. Eventually I realized there were too many to make it worth my time. So i read another - same thing. Then I found this one, written yesterday, and still, so many inaccuracies that it is not worth debating. Some of your complaints and ideas of malfeasance sound coherent, but ultimately, are either not grounded in truth or are full of inaccuracies.
However it makes me wonder, how is this worth your time? Obviously you had a bad experience years ago, and seem to have made it your life's mission to badmouth these companies. But do you honestly have nothing else going on in your life all of these years that's more important? If I had a bad experience with post-secondary, and it didn't set me up for life in a lot of ways it promised to, should I devote the rest of my spare time telling everyone I possibly could not to go to school?
I get the impression that if you had something meaningful you were pursuing you would be focusing your energy on that. Amway may have been that for awhile before you gave up and that's why you're bitter now.. i don't know, because you write these articles anonymously so people cannot see your "fruit on the tree". But if that's the case, that's on you, not Amway.
Notice how in school, you have a 3-year degree, or a 4-year degree? Do you stop to wonder why they say 2-5 years, not 2, not 5? Because it comes down to you. The opportunity is the same for everyone, which is why it can be appealing, but not everyone will work at it the same. Hence why, in contrast, I did a 5-year apprenticeship in a trade in 2.5 years, while someone I started out with took 6.
I encourage you to move on and find something meaningful and worthwhile with your life. I have never heard of one successful (however you may define the word) person who spends their time discrediting others.

From what you, say it seems to me that Amway in Ada, Michigan, has no control at all over the various LOS subsystems. If WWDB can create a fake category like "Double eagle ruby" (what the hell does THAT mean?), and if they can spread lying bullshit about getting rich within 2 to 5 years, then Amway is basically helpless in this setup. All Amway can do is make the products, and turn a blind eye to how the stuff is distributed.

Isn't it true that Amway refuses to take any responsibility for the various "functions" that are run by the LOS subsystems? So if some fat-assed Diamond at "Dream Night" tells you outrageous lies about getting rich in 2 to 5 years, Amway is not answerable for it, since this is not an "Amway function."

North America is basically dead territory for Amway. Signing up a new IBO here is like trying to sell sand in the Sahara. But foreigners aren't stupid. They too will begin to realize that the entire Amway racket is fraudulent.

Anonymous at 6:01 you say I make all kinds of errors but you fail to identify what they are. I wonder why that is? 😎

Anonymous at 10:21 am. To address your issue: Amway has the power to stop the abuses but then sales would go down so they apparently turn a blind eye and the abuse goes on but profits keep rolling in. The upline teaches 100 PV minimum and product loyalty and Amway benefits. All the while the upline are ripping off the Amway faithful selling them tools that helps upline get wealthy while the rank and file distributors get hosed and suffer losses month after month.

Amway and the LOS like WWDB have a symbiotic relationship.

Dear Joe --

Here's a basic translation of what Anonymous at 6:01 said:

PLEASE DON'T ATTACK AMWAY ANYMORE! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE STOP!

Anonymous at 10:21 am- you're right- foreigners aren't stupid. I'm from India and amway's reputation here in India is just as bad as it is in the states. Amway has been here for about 20 years and in that relatively short time, it has managed to become a joke. No one really cares about the products and people here are careful not to end up in an amway meeting. Emeralds have come down to the platinum level , products aren't selling, and more people are quitting than joining.
