Socialism Arrives In NYC?

So last night, NYC elected Zohran Mamdani and mayor.  He calls himself a democrat socialist but in reality, he's simply a socialist and a marxist.  His victory speech seemed to reveal a different side of himself that seemed almost a bit scary in my opinion.  He's made big promises like free bus service, rent control, free stuff and city run grocery stores.   He's also promised to fund his spending by taxing the more affluent "white" neighborhoods.  (That sounds racist to me).  He also doesn't believe in billionaires, but then again, if not for billionaires, who will be tax to pay for his pie in the sky ambitions?

He has said he want to eliminate the police and jails, and replace them with social workers.  I wonder who in their right mind would want to be a social worker tasked with handling domestic violence calls and no armed police by their side?   No jails?  So people who commit crimes, even violent crimes will be roaming the streets freely?  The politicians who make these promises don't care because they are protected by an army of armed security.  It's the struggling middle class, working class, and poor who will wind up scared to leave their homes, especially at night.  But at the same time, he was duly elected so the people there will need to live with the results.  It sure seems like the people in Chicago don't like their socialist extremely woke mayor, despite having elected him.

Last time I checked, crooks don't rob banks if cops are parked outside.   Not sure if social workers will be quite the same deterrence.

NY and Wall Street is the home of capitalism and many wealthy people.  But if a meaningful number of wealthy people leave NY, or if Wall Street moguls take their business elsewhere, the tax base will dry up.  I recall representative AOC prevented Amazon headquarters from relocating to NYC which likely cost the city a significant number of high paying jobs along with tons of tax revenues.  Without wealthy people to pay the bills, where will the new mayor find the cash to fund all of his free stuff?  The cost pf living and taxes are already high in NYC so some wealthy people, maybe a lot of them are likely to leave for tax havens like Florida, Texas and other less tax crazy states.

This is shaping up to be an interesting social experiment.  The democrat party has a lot at stake.  When Mamdani fails, which he eventually will, how will democrats defend their policies?   "Trump sucks" is not a policy and Trump will be out of office at the end of 2028.   Mamdani swore to "fight" Trump, etc etc.  Since when does a city mayor have enough leverage to fight and win against the President of the US?   But to the radical extreme left, saying you will oppose Trump satisfies the voting base.  The democrat party in my opinion, is at a crossroads.  They are about to cross the Rubicon where you can't be a moderate in the party,  You are either extreme left or you're out.  It is likely to turn into a disaster because most of the US is not in favor of their policies.

I always hear how Trump is a threat to democracy.  Democracy is doing the will of the people.  Being that Trump was a duly elected president, opposing everything he is trying to accomplish is a bigger threat to democracy than anything Trump is doing, such as closing the border, deporting illegal aliens with an emphasis on deporting illegal alien criminals.  The democrats are even turning on former democrat sweetheart John Fetterman from Pennsylvania because he supports deporting illegal criminals from the US.

NYC got what they voted for, but I believe they will soon have buyer's remorse.

You are confused here.
Apparently to oppose what Trump is doing is opposing democracy, yet opposing Zohran Mamdani is democracy at work.
You are a hypocrite!

First off, it is Mamdani who is opposing Trump. He ran on a platform of opposing Trump. Same with Letitia James whose campaign was to "get Trump".

Secondly, I don't live in NY so I don't "oppose" Mamdani. I just believe his policies are going to lead to serious buyer's remorse by the voters. Mamdani's tone has already shifted from smiling and friendliness to a more sharp and critical tone, in case you haven't noticed.

I look at it like a giant social experiment. I believe it will fail because Mamdani implies he doesn't care for wealth and the wealthy, but who do you think provides the tax base? If enough of the Wall Street moguls take their business elsewhere, you going to squeeze the middle class to pay for all of the "free" stuff?

Joe Cool, the Anonymous poster at 12:08 AM is just some socialist asshole. Ignore him.

Why are you so political all of a sudden, Joecool? You had a recent (delusional) post about "No Kings Day", defending tRump. Now you're plugging in on NYC Mayoral election? Why do you even blog about Amway anymore? Hardly anyone engages in comments with you any more. Maybe you should go on Faux News. You live in Hawaii, why would you be an expert on NYC Mayoral office? Millions of people took part in the NoKings peaceful protests and there are more to come. I don't know what kind of protective bubble you live in on your island, but here in reality - on the mainland, the would -be King tRump IS a true threat to democracy. Not a young, duly elected mayor of NYC. You're really out of the loop as you've been out of Amway for years. The scam is the tools racketeering, tax evasion, from high level Amway predators. Maybe do some real work on that for a true expose' instead of your boring wash-rinse-repeat with some one-sided political posts.

It's my blog, so I get to post my opinions on other subjects as I see fit. I rarely ever interject a political opinion, but I see this election as interesting, a social experiment and an impending disaster for NYC.

So to clarify, how exactly is Trump a king? He was duly elected by Americans. Isn't "election denial" a sin in the democrat party or is it only wrong if you oppose a democrat win? Speaking of kings, the democrats haven't held a presidential primary in more than a dozen years. Hillary Clinton, Biden and Harris were not elected as democrat nominees, they were appointed by the DNC. Democracy is the will of the people, not coronating a king.

And how is Trump a threat to democracy? He is doing what he was elected to do. Fix the economy and deport illegal migrants. People who obstruct the will of the people are a bigger threat to democracy in my opinion.

To the Anonymous commenter at November 10 (2:11 PM) --

Stop being an asshole.

I've been following Joe Cool's amazing blog for over seven years now. He has done excellent work in publicizing the lies and fraudulence of the Amway MLM racket, and is responsible (along with many other online sites) for steadily bringing down Amway's profits, making recruitment of new IBOs more and more difficult, and generally throwing a monkey wrench into the entire rotten pyramid system.

He almost never makes any political comments. I go to the site every day, and Joe Cool always has something pertinent and relevant to say about what a ripoff Amway is. He makes no profit from his blog, and he does it at his own expense and on his own time. "The Dream or the Scheme" is pure public service, given to the world without the slightest desire to enrich himself.

So, Anonymous at 2:11, who the bloody hell are you to come here and give him flak just because he expresses a political opinion that you don't agree with? Are you God? Do you have a divine right to dictate what other people think or believe?

If you're stupid enough to support a socialist buffoon like Mamdani, that's your business, and your right as a citizen. But there are plenty of us who agree with Joe Cool, and who see that this utterly incompetent left-wing jerk is a political and economic disaster for New York City.

Joe Cool has the right to say whatever the hell he chooses in his blog. And if you don't like what he says, you can just go screw yourself. Got that?

Anonymous November 10, thanks for your support and kind comments. Yes, I do this as a hobby and I do it mainly to provide relevant information to current IBOs as well as prospects and information seekers. I am posting my personal experience and sometimes relevant facts that many are unaware of, especially the lies about the tools and functions and the profits and other half truths often told by upline to get you into their system.

As for my online critic, yes, nobody forced you to read my blog post. It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. It's called the first amendment. Seems like communist regimes and democrats don't like it, which is why I was put in social media jail many times during the Biden regime. I haven't been silenced since Trump was elected.

I do not agree with everything Trump says and does, but the country is better off with him in charge than the alternatives. Wars are coming to an end, hopefully the Russia Ukraine conflict will end soon. Prices are coming down and the stock market is soaring. I vote on results, not feelings.
