In Your Best Interest?

The really insidious part about some of the Amway LOS leaders, such as the ones I had in WWDB, is that they apparently are cutthroat businessmen with nice suits and nice smiles. They are disguised as your mentors and friends. They get you to trust them, and they will tell you that they have your best interest at heart, or that they would never purposely lead you astray. On the surface, you may think this is true, but look at their actions and you can easily discern that some of these uplines are absolutely ruthless businessmen who would take every cent from you if they could. I was in WWDB and I have good reasons to believe that they are still doing this, based on a WWDB IBO blog and some other bitt of information I am privy to. On this blog, I see all the same teachings today, that I heard as an IBO and some of the same claims such as buying homes in cash. It's scary.

As an IBO, the diamonds would tell you to never miss a function, ever. The only good reason for missing a function was for your own funeral. I recall some crossline IBOs rearranging pre-planned anniverssary parties, weddings, and other special family events in the name of being core and attending all functions. Some IBOs actually did quit their jobs to attend functions and they very well may have done so because some uplines taught this. I know of an IBO who did just that. He quit his job to attend a major function and got into all kinds of financial problems when they got back to real life. IBOs were also encouraged and told to go into debt to attend a function. This was okay because it was an "investment into your business". This is scary advice and why I maintain this blog.

Our group was also strongly encouraged to buy 5-7 extra cds (tapes) every week (or more). To be core, you needed to listen to a cd (tape) each day and you cannot listen to the same one each day right? Couples were told to buy their own separate standing orders. Brad Duncen even had a true north tape (cd) that said sponsors were to eat the standing orders for downlines who quit because it was too much trouble to call upline who calls upline who calls upline to cancel a standing order. Oddly enough, they didn't mind upline calling upline calling upline to add a standing order.

In the end, I was lucky enough to have been progressing up the pin ranks so my losses were not that devastating. I ended up losing in my early months of the business but mostly broke even when I was at 4000 PV. Sadly though, my crossline did not fare so well. I know of one couple who declared bankruptcy. I don't know how much their WWDB involvement contributed to bankruptcy, but I am certain it was a major factor and I know of two couples who had homes foreclosed, and I believe that their allegiance to WWDB was a factor in those foreclosures. But I guess hey, two WWDB diamonds had homes foreclosed so maybe they were duplicating?

Do not be fooled. The diamonds may have a nice smile and a nice suit, but they are ruthless businessmen who will take your last dime if you allow them to.

Joe how long do you think Amway is going to last for how many years possibly in your imo? because I'm getting sick of these nutheads with their make pretend "business".

I believe Amway is saturated but the scheme doesn't collapse because new people are born and turn 18 each day. If the population did not continue to increase, I believe Amway would be sunk by now. But a sucker is born every day. Also, the FTC doesn't have the fortitude to close down schemes. Look at Herbalife. Instead of shutting them down, the FTC only fined them 200 million and forced some changes to their operations but they are alive and well.

I believe spreading the truth about these schemes is the best way to give prospects a chance to see the light, or at least allow them to make an informed decision if they still want to join a scheme.

Amway in North America is suffering badly from these various anti-MLM blogs. They lose a big percentage of profit every year.

As long as we keep up the pressure of these blogs, and spread the truth about Amway and its rip-off racket, fewer and fewer persons will sign up as IBOs. In the long run, Amway will have to fold.

WWDB is probably the most ruthless and corrupt of the various Amway LOS subsystems. I wouldn't be surprised at any lie they tell, or scam they run.

Unfortunately my daughter is WWDB victim and brainwashed. Believing everything upline tells her. Its wrecking her future and relationships, everything! I have warned her but she is insistent on pursuing this. Sad thing is she already has a great career and will probably throw it all away for this crap. I hate this

It will be hard to get her out of Amway if she is still young and enthusiastic about it. Usually when an IBO begins to realize that he or she is losing money month after month, the IBO will start to question the entire thing. But meanwhile, your daughter might lose her regular job, alienate many friends and family members, and be financially drained.

The best advice is this: DON'T GIVE HER ANY SUPPORT, either emotionally or financially. Don't buy any Amway products from her, and don't let her use your home as a place of business for Amway. Don't lend her money if she has a cash-flow problem. Don't let her store Amway inventory with you. And when she falls on her face, don't bail her out!

If she tries to argue with you, just say "You are wrecking your career! You have an excellent job that brings in good money, and which promises real security for you! Don't throw away a real career for a fake dream like WWDB-Amway!"

Thank you for the words of advice & encouragement anonymous May 15th at 6:47am. My mind is constantly occupied and troubled with this unfortunate event that has came into our lives and is putting a strain on our once happy family. I felt that my husband and I had done a good job raising our daughter, provided a very good education for her so she would have a secure future and a good job, and now THIS comes along and turns her into someone completely different. The spark in her is dying out, her once vibrant, vivacious personality is fading as she becomes more and more insistent on this ridiculous dream. I miss her, our social butterfly. And what used to be her best attribute, (never giving up on something she starts and giving it everything she's got) is now going to be her worst enemy. If she does succeed (i know the odds are very low) is it worth all she will lose to get there, no. At first I was mad they were ripping her off financially, but now I dont care about the money part of it. They are changing her, taking her spirit. She used to be so happy and carefree and now she is like a robot. She is not the same anymore, breaks my heart.
She lives on her own and we do not support her financially at all, she does quite well, which is why she can AFFORD to be an IBO. I am sure they dont seek out or "help" people who dont make enough money to support their amway business. I wouldnt be surprised if the person who first approached het didn't stalk her out in the parking lot and seen she got out of a nice car and followed her into the store and just struck up a fake conversation with her, and oh hey she's wearing scrubs thats a good prospect, ASSHOLES !!
I do buy a small amount of products from her (a few things I actually like, even though i feel they are overpriced) because I am afraid if I dont support her a little bit in this she will further alienate herself from me. I feel like I need to keep her close so I can still communicate with her about this. Basically I dont want her to shut me out. Which further opens up the door for THEM to reel her in.
She is such a beautiful, wonderful, caring, smart, hard working, generous young woman that has a great future ahead of her, if she can just get out of this. Im so scared for her, i just want our girl back.

Does your daughter have a boyfriend? Or even just some close friends to whom she talks regularly?

If so, what do they think? Do they support her in this crazy WWDB racket? I'm sure she has tried to get her friends signed up in the scheme.

Would your daughter be willing to look at the book "Merchants of Deception"? It's the most devastating critique of Amway ever written.

She HAD a boyfriend, a very nice young man, and she recently broke up with him unfortunately. I personally read the entire book front to back Merchants of Deception and suggested that she read it also and she said NO. flat out no. The thought of something like that happening to her breaks my heart. I dont know where to turn or what to do. She is very blessed to have WONDERFUL friends, and a wonderful job) I am afraid her friendships will suffer as a result of this new business she is in. She has always been the type of person that cherished and valued her friendships and her family. But now that has changed. The business and her team meetings etc come before everything. She's a lovely young woman very kind and caring but she is hell-bent on making this work. And truly believes if we just give her 2 to 5 years then we will understand what she's doing. I don't think I can take this worrying like this for 2 to 5 years!! I wish I would wake up and this would all be a bad dream but unfortunately it's not it's real and it's happening to our family and to my daughter. I hate Amway and WWDB, home wreckers and ruining the lives of young , ambitious people.

Well, I don't know what else to advise you. She's an adult, and can legally make all of her own decisions.

If she's intelligent, she'll eventually find out what a rip-off the entire Amway racket is. And if she loses money steadily in it for a year or two, it will be very hard for her to tell herself that this is a great "opportunity."

On the other hand, Joe Cool's doctor friend has been in Amway for over twenty years, and it has essentially wrecked his career, his finances, and his life. That is a terrible possibility.

It seems the best you can hope for now is that she will manage to hang on to her job in the health professions, and that her enthusiasm for this Amway garbage will not cause her to neglect that important job. In any case, she won't be able to survive in Amway if she doesn't have a separate income to subsidize it all. Tell her to keep her day job, because she's really going to need it if she stays in this corrupt WWDB-Amway scheme.

Yes, the decision is hers and I just have to hope she snaps out of it sooner than later. Still, its hard to watch her throw everything away she worked so hard for.
