Amway - What's A Better Option?

One of the humorous things that IBOs say on my blog is if Amway isn't such a great deal, then why don't we offer a better solution? I guess it's not enough that there are facts and experiences posted here so that information seekers can find and make informed decisions about joining or not joining Amway, but we must also suggest better options? Well, I will offer some. While I am not advising anyone to listen to my thoughts, nor do I think you should act on what you read what's here without doing your due diligence your own soul searching, here are my opinions on what may be better than Amway:

1. Be a better steward of the money you already have. Many people have enough income but simply channel too much of it to things they don't need. A daily $5 cup of starbucks for example. Disciplined saving and investing.

2. Get a second job and set aside a portion for saving and investing. You will not only have more discretionary cash, but also more to be able to set aside for your golden years.

3. Start your own small business. The biggest issue with Amway, in my opinion is the endless supply of training that uplines sell. It causes most "serious" IBOs to end up with a net loss. You can find a niche product and sell it on ebay or craigslist, unlike Amway products. Another type of small business might be something like learning to do minor household repairs or installing hardwood flooring. These kinds of services are quite common and can be lucrative.

4. Do nothing. Since most business building IBOs lose money, doing nothing, although comical, actually makes you bette off than losing money because of functions and standing orders.

5. Spend more time with your family. Ironically, many IBOs have this as a goal, but actually spend less time with family because of Amway related activities.

There you have it folks. There are some ideaas of what might be better than spending your time and money participating in the Amway business and the Amway motivational organizations. While these are only ideas, only you can decide what is best for you and your family. In whatever you decide to do, I wish you well.

Listen Buddy, I'll give you an option. Stop bashing Amway and I won't give you a knuckle sandwich.

How about I keep blogging and you put some slaw and mustard on that sandwich?

I am surprised that the critics of this blog have nothing intelligent to say other than shut up.

Joe, I have an article for you to read that would make a great post. You may ask that why don't I just start a blog and put my views there. Two reasons - I like to stay anonymous and if there is already traffic on this site no point creating yet another site. You are doing a great job in my opinion

So, here is the article:
The Psychology of Human Misjudgment by Charlie Munger. This is one of the most famous talks by Warren Buffett's business partner for 40 years, Charlie Munger. It sites 24 reasons why humans make poor decisions. You will identify many of these reasons to be the ones that most IBOs make on a daily basis in the business.

I think it could make a great post. Most IBOs can challenge me and you, because we do not have "success" to show them. And we are just disgruntled IBOs. But, I doubt they can challenge a billionaire and someone that Warren Buffett often gives credit to for his success. The critics will have no other choice but to shut up (because they will be scared of the truth)

A daily $5 cup of Starbucks coffee when you know it too well that you too buy it? What a hypocrite!

"know it too well that you too buy it" - I don't understand the comment. What was it for?

I read the article and it does have parallels to Amway. I did write an article a few months ago on the psychology behind the Amway presentation. You can do a google search or backtrack through my archives. Thanks

Amway, like any business, requires great effort and self-motivation to build. Many people have become successful in Amway and just because you didn't doesn't mean that others can't. Amway is at $10.9 billion company and helps put other people on the small business owner position. Depending on your affiliation in the business you may have just had a bad experience with a goofy person or made goofy choices yourself. Did you know that at the beginning of the year, thousands of people sign up at the gym, but 98% of the people quit or lack the self discipline to notice any change in their body composition. That doesn't mean the gym doesn't work, it means people don't. Stay motivated and dedicated to one thing that will actually move your life forward and you will be better off. I personally have had great success with amway and have known others who have as well. It's not for everyone, but the money is there for anyone who is willing to put in te effort.
