Amway On Christmas?

On the internet, I've seen some interesting stuff that some past IBOs have done. Such as talking about how the malls are crowded and why bother with all the hassle when you can shop on Amway.com? I guess if you don't mind paying through your teeth you can shop at Amway.com and get your Christmas shopping done. I can imagine the looks on the faces of your family when they receive a bottle of LOC or a box of SA8 when others are receiving Xbox games and/or gift cards for their favorite restaurants or movie tickets. There's nothing wrong with buying gifts from Amway of course, but overdoing it can make things weird with your friends and family.

I'm not sure about Amway's current gift catalog programs, but I recall purchasing those items at Christmas to give to family and friends. Afterall, you gotta build that PV right? Looking back I wonder if my family and friends thought I was cheap or brainwashed with those kinds of gifts? But hey, as an IBO, you do it to support your business. So what if you spent $500 to get 100 or 200 PV? Your "broke" friends and family won't be getting that $12 check in the month following December right? You get "paid" to shop.

One of the things our upline taught the group was that there's rarely a "day off" when you're in Amway. Sure, you might relax on Christmas day but you need to get off your duff and back on the recruiting trail so you can work on fulfilling your dreams. Afterall, you want to eventually walk away from your evil boss and deadend job and spend time at the beach with your "awesome" upline mentors. Do IBOs ever wonder why their upline mentors don't spend time at the beach and instead are out showing the plan and speaking at functions, even at Christmas? I used to see our upline diamond in his car, wearing a suit frequently. I thought why he didn't just take a month's vacation at Christmas. My sponsor said he was so focused on helping the downline "get free", that he didn't take time off. Looking back, I believe he was busy because he had to. Our former diamond (Harimoto) was a dedicated ocean lover. I wonder why he up and moved to Washington (State) in the Pacific Northwest? Maybe he enjoys a white Christmas? Or maybe he couldn't recruit enough people in Hawaii? I don't know but that move seems odd to me.

Anyway, for the IBOs out there... It's nearly Christmas. Lighten up. You can take a break from recruiting family and friends into Amway. Just enjoy the company and fellowship with your loved ones. Don't have undermining thoughts of showing them the plan. I can nearly assure you that your social gatherings will have less tension and that you will enjoy yourself more. Your loved ones are likely to enjoy having you around also instead of wondering what you have up your sleeve.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A very merry Xmas to you. I take it you aren't sending out any Amway gift cards this year? May you have good health and happiness in the New Year.

I haven't noticed any video footage or pics of harimoto on Amway YouTube or their website for diamond club for past few yrs. They don't take many pics of diamond club or videos. Been bored during winter break and looked at this stuff for past few years. Very few recognizable faces at diamond club events for wwdb. But its usually the same faces there. Wonder if wwdb ease their speaking and tool distribution for non qualifying diamonds? Because I seen some who I think are non diamonds for wwdb speaking at functions and listed on their site. Oh wanna wish you a merry Xmas.

Diamond club is only for qualified diamonds so yeah, many may be speaking but not qualified. I had heard that WWDB will allow non qualified diamonds to keep speaking for up to two years and then they must re-qualify in order to keep speaking at functions. I heard that Scott Harimoto had fallen out for a while and re-qualified later. I had a conversation with an IBO a few years back and none of Scott's directs from my IBO days were directs anymore so he had to rebuild his entire team.

Yeah, not much going on with WWDB on the surface but that could be because there's hardly any movement. I've seen more diamonds drop out than new ones.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Stumbled across this website while researching Amway. My story starts around 14 years ago. My parents got involved in Amway I was 22 at the time and they recruited me and my girlfriend (now wife) into the 'business' my older bother and his wife joined as well. We went to a lot of seminars and home meetings, met with their Directs constantly was told it was the only way to brake free from working for someone else and to make real money. At the time we were broke I couldnt afford the tapes or seminar entry fees so my parents would pay. I would make calls to friends and work colleagues and organised meetings, recruited people and thought it was great. My parents became directs and my brother and I were slowly progressing too. As I was only young my influence and life experience I felt held me back and that's when I started asking questions. I could see my parents buying tools all the time and having to buy a lot of product to re qualify as directs every month. There was always a new fad product line as well, makeup, jewelery, water purifiers, air purifiers healing magnets. It looked like one gimmick after another. I saw the travel costs of going all over the state for meetings, the phone calls etc the straw broke when their laundry door was looked and I couldnt go in there any more and found out they bought 6 air purifiers just to stay directs and didn't want anyone in their downline to know hence locking the room off. I quit and kept on working my job which freed up my time to look at other things. My brother kept working his day job and doing Amway on the side still to this day. I would not have a clue how much money time and effort him and his wife have spent doing it for 14 years and still are not even close to making a living out of it. My parents quit after about 5 year's they wasted precious time and money on it, they are almost broke at 60 years of age. The amazing upline we all admired quit as well at the sane time my parents did. They apparently had a strong group below them but I was told it all fell apart. My brother deals with no one that was around when I was involved as they have all left. He is constantly trying to find new people as the turnover is massive. The ironic part about the whole thing is that I was told it was the only way to get ahead in life to be an independent business owner in Amway. I started a small business of my own in the back bedroom of my house 10 years ago and over time it grew with offices in several states of Australia and this year I made over a million dollars in profit. I think at how ironic it was that I quit Amway and made something so successful, my parents have basically nothing and my brother is still working the same job chasing the same dream he was 16 years earlier.

Thanks your your comment. I think it shows the danger of Amway and the tools.

harimoto has not qualified as a diamond for many years... .. at best he is an emerald right now..

I heard that he had dropped down to emerald but that he eventually re-qualified as diamond. Odd that he moved to Washington state though. Maybe he couldn't afford to live in Hawaii?

can you imagine 25 PLUS years in the business and Harimoto not even a diamond.. must suck trying to show a 2-5 year plan when you are approaching 30 years.. Heard many of his directs are either divorced, broke or dont talk to the guy. The apple dont fall far from the tree.
