Amway - What's Your Business Worth?

Many many people see the Amway plan, sign up in the hopes that Amway income will help them fulfill their dreams and that they will walk away from their jobs and collect lifelong residual income while walking the beaches of the world. Sadly, most IBOs will never even sponsor a single downline. These IBOs may continue in the business for a while but will eventually quit when they see the writing on the wall.

But wait, you're an "independent business owner". So instead of quitting, why not sell your Amway business? I wonder if any IBOs actually think about what their business is worth. I mean a diamond could sell their business and live large happily ever after right? Here's some food for thought. Why are there instance of diamonds quitting or resigning from Amway? Why would they just quit when they could either walk away and collect an income "forever" or sell the business?

I believe diamonds quit and resign because their business is worth very little or nothing. And most Amway businesses do not even generate a net profit. For IBOs who are seriously pondering on this very important message, try looking up this topic in Amway's rules. There are very complicated steps to be taken when selling your AMway business as each person upline must be offered ownership (To the best of my understanding). This process can go on for a long time and the attrition of your business could render it worthless before you can find a buyer, if you have a buyer at all. Also, if you quit, the downline in your group would be surrendered to the immediate upline anyway. So why would your upline want to buy your business?

So IBOs, I ask you. What is your business worth?

Quixtar/Amway business is only worth pennies on the PV dollar.

A couple of years ago a 4000 PV business was sold for $1,500 on the open market (Ebay).

Your business is worth zero because you no longer have a business, you quit on your business. So, leave my business alone to myself. Thanks you!

LOL, anonymous, you know what;s funny? You didn't quit and your business is worth zero.

Everyone should do a Net Worth sheet once a year, whether an IBO or not. It's a great tool to see where you are at financially.

Funny, except for the value of some products I had in inventory - and despite to tens of thousands of miles I drove, seminars, starting new groups, working existing groups, tools, tools, and more tools - my income never matched what was shown in "the plan" and expenses always outstripped revenue.

My bidnez was worth basically zero.

Funny how P/L sheets and such don't respond to rah-rah. They just give you harsh reality.

BTW - according to my Double Diamond, I was building the right way, was a future Diamond in the making, a winner, blah, blah, blah.

Walking away was the best financial more I ever did!

Wow, now you're making threats? Do you know you can get arrested for that? All I need to do is give your IP address and a copy of this message to the authorities and you'll end up as someone's girlfriend in jail. LOL

When I decided to not pursue the business any more after 8 years of hard work..I had a few legs associating and my business was creating about 1000-15000pv, my upline started working on how he could get all of my legs restructured so that everybody will be in a single leg, so that i wont make any money off any of my upline or downline's effort. Talk about residual income.

You can't make money off of your upline. You can only make money off of your downline. Are you sure you pursued this business at all during those 8 years of hard work?

"You can only make money off of your downline."

Aren't you supposed to make money from customers?

I meant from the efforts my upline (??help provided by upline) would put into building my team. They wanted to make sure everybody in my team would be in one leg, so that volume would add up to them. They did not want me to make any profit from the width I had. It did not matter to my upline that i had put in so much money, time and effort for 8 years. The moment I decided not to build the business, all their people skills went out of the window and there were no more win-win solutions.

If I'm supposed to make money from my customers alone, that's called being self-employed. Thank you but I'm not interested in self-employment. I like to build a team to duplicate my efforts. I once heard it said that it's better to get 1% of the effort of 100 people than 100% of one person (me). I like the concept, makes perfect sense to me. At your job you get 100% of your own effort. That's something I don't like. The president of your company gets 1% of the effort of 100 people. That I like but not doing it his way. Networking to build teams where everyone chooses to build as per his own terms. Now, that I like. If you don't I couldn't care less.
Are you sure that your upline didn't want you to make any profit from the width of your downline? Well, he either didn't know how to build width, he was ignorant or worse he was doing it on purpose which I find hard to accept because no normal human being would want you to not make money off of your downline width. You should have changed your business upline association and go in another team. Did you think of that? It's stupid to quit just because of your upline. If something wrong were to happen, I would be going to another team with another upline. Quitting is not an option for the strong man. Next time you get an opportunity remember to not quit just because of people especially people like Joecool who authors this infantile blog.

Anonymous, so in other words you like rippimg off your downline? Why not just ask 100 friends to give you a hundred bucks a month?

It's basically the same thing.

My article struck a nerve huh? Good.

Joecool, in other words as per your question, the answer is that I like ripping off my downline. I have no problem with that, I feel no pain, I feel no shame and so on. I just love it when the Walton family rips you off every time you buy from Walmart and refer others too. If the Waltons were to pay you incentives for shopping at Walmart and refer others they would no longer rip you off as effectively but does it matter? Not really. So yeah, I like ripping off my downline. Proud to be doing that!

Joecool said...

Yes. Mr. Walton doesn't promise or imply that you will get rich or earn an income shoping at his stores. He promises the best prices and delivers.

Your downline are enticed to join to earn an income and implied wealth is a big part of recruiting new IBOs. Sadly, nearly all IBOs will end up losing money and quitting. Prove me wrong - you can't.
