No, Quixtar doesn't have a "AA" rating from the BBB - it doesn't have any rating.

Wednesday, February 07, 2007

There was an interesting exchange in a forum last week about Quixtar's BBB (Better Business Bureau) rating. One person suggested that neither Quixtar nor any LOA had achieved a "AA" rating from the BBB.

And that's true. Because the BBB does not rate companies against a scorecard and assign a rating with letters or numbers. NOTE: As it's been pointed out in comments, some local BBBs have rating systems but West Michigan, which administers Quixtar's report, does not. Rather, the BBB provides information on whether a company has a satisfactory record in dealing with consumer complaints and issues.
This from the BBB's FAQ:

The BBB reports on a firm's marketplace practices. It does not report either individual or business credit information. BBB reliability reports contain information about the nature of the business, its principal officers, a three-year summary of any complaints processed, and any government action involving the company's marketplace practices. Most Bureaus will also report a company's BBB membership in its public report and note whether it participates in any special BBB programs to improve customer satisfaction.

The BBB does not endorse or recommend particular companies; it provides information related to customer satisfaction and complaints so consumers can make informed decisions based on the experiences of others.

Quixtar is one of the most searched terms on the West Michigan BBB Web site. That's because the national Council of Better Busienss Bureaus refers inquiries back to regional offices that handle inquiries related to companies in their service areas. So if you go to the national site and type in a search for Quixtar, you'll be redirected to the West Michigan site and the most current Quixtar BBB report. You'll see that while inquiries are high, the small number of complaints filed have been resolved to the satisfaction of the BBB and we hope, the consumers.

Quixtar is a member of the BBB and also participates in the BBB Online Reliability Program, which provides specific rules pertaining to online retailers and consumer protections.

Now there are other companies that provide ratings of a company's credit and payment performance, like Dun and Bradstreet and Standard and Poor. But those are measures of a company's financial solvency, not how they resolve issues or deal with customer concerns.

We respond quickly to BBB complaints, but no more quickly than to other concerns shared with us by phone or e-mail. Anyone with a concern or complaint regarding our plan, products or other aspects of our business are welcome to contact us for discussion and if appropriate, investigation, and ultimately resolution of the issue. We're in the process of revamping the "Contact Us" section at Quixtar.com to make it even easier to share a product or company concern or to file a complaint if there's a potential infringement of Quixtar's Rules of Conduct or Code of Ethics. Today, you can send rules issues to abuse@quixtar.com for follow-up. You can contact Quixtar Customer Support with product issues. If you have a question pertaining to Quixtar, you can contact PR at PR@quixtar.com.

The changes to "Contact Us" will just make it quicker and easier to share -- whether it's a concern, a complaint, or the occasional compliment!

Hey anonymous from Canada, it must suck to be wrong so often huh?

True but you're talking about yourself here. BBB reliabity reports contain information about the nature of the business and government actions taken against the business. These factors are used to determine the rating. In Amway's case the rating is A+. So Amway, the dream or the scheme gets A+. I'm proud to say the least!
See, you can't convince me or anyone else who has enough common sense for that matter. It sucks doesn't it?

In our open meetings, people who showed the plan have mentioned several times that quixtar has "AA" rating by BBB and great rating by Dun and Bradstreet rating. They always used to say don't use google to research on Amway oppurtunity. Go to Better business Bureau website, look at Dun and Bradstreet rating...etc, etc. Well, I never knew about all these ratings and used to believe the bigpins, until a guy from Amway who came to speak in one of the BWW function stated that "we should not misrepresent the oppurtunity when showing the plan, by mentioning BBB rating and Dun and Bradstreet rating".

I guess anonymous didn't bother to read the article written by an Amway employee.

Buddy, that's not my problem. You know what, it's actually really simple. You believe and keep on believing whatever you want and so do I. That way it makes it easier for all of us. I believe that Amway is the way for me and will act accordingly. You believe that your job is the way for you and that's yours to keep. But you don't have the right to tell people why they can't and shouldn't do something on pretenses of truth and expertise. Ok? Be a good boy and don't bother the dogs because you know, dogs sometimes bite too.

You believe in Amway. That's fine. I never told you to quit.

I told you to quit lying. Amway is not a franchise and Amway's BBB rating is explained in this post by an Amway employee.

But wheren't you the one who came here to Joe's blog in the first place? Joe's to nice of a guy to say it so I'll say it for him; you believe the business will work, good for you, good luck running West looking for a sunrise, you aren't the first...and you simply won't be the last.

The difference is that you stopped running when you got a little blister on your ankle. How a little blister can bring down a mighty man!

What does a blister have to do with Amway?

How did you run a 4000 PV business with no profit? That's actually impossible unless you were running the majority of that volume through yourself.

Some people just dont understand that amway is number one for a reason amd the facts the real facts back that up ..if you build the amway buisness with the right tranning system and learn to get over your egotistical attitudes and be hungy to learn and make the changes nessisary and understan that when you consume your products its not a investment because you are already buying your foods and vit and energy drinks what the investment is is in your education to furhter the buisness..and then people might say ha ha ha that where you are rong buy bools and tapes and go to meetings ha ha ha ..and i think to my self then why do people who go to collage and pay them 50 60 70 80 90 100:000 dollars to go get a pice of paper and a j..o..b.. Theres nothing rong with it but if your agains people makin mony off yo then do your reserch and look at basicly every buisness in america and blog them cause there makin money off you too there is nothing rong with it its called free enterprise and you can either be makin money or complaining cause you arnt makin money ..
