Amway - Quitting Amway Is Not Failure!

One of the things that uplines will teach their downline IBOs is that you are a failure if you quit. Some uplines will tell you if you never quit, you will eventually make it. That success might be right around the corner. Or if you go diamond after 30 years, it's still better than a job. Some uplines will make analogies of sports figures "never giving up". This is a subtle form of pressure to keep IBOs in the business. Many IBOs think they will be failures in life if they quit Amway. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In the world of business, sometimes quitting is simply a wise business decision. Can you imagine a stock broker who "never quits"? A stock will go bankrupt because the broker will "never quit"? Ridiculous. Sometimes the best option is to quit, regroup and come up with a better plan. An analogy to an athlete is insincere at best. Top athletes may never quit, but eventually, the game or tournament will end and that athlete will make adjustments or practice more to be better in the next game or tournament. Just as a business owner may quit several businesses before finding one that works for him and can deliver the goals that business owner has.

If you have big dreams of fancy cars and homes, quitting Amway doesn't mean you cannot accomplish these dreams and goals. It simply means you have to find another vehicle to accomplish it. You may have to do another kind of business, or maybe you will focus on your current job or business and allow it to flourish. I found that life after Amway was quite good for me. I progressed in my occupation and I currently earn a decent living and I am quite content. I have managed to save and invest and plan to retire comfortably with no debts.

If your Amway business is not what was advertised to you and if you aren't making a net profit that is worth your return on investment, then quitting is not a failure. It might be a wise business decision. You as an independent business owner, will have to assess your situation and decide what's best for you and your family.

Good post. I wrote a similar one earlier today as well. Unfortunately, those ensnared by manipulative Systems won't understand this until much later in life.

What a stupid post. If I quit Amway, what do you have to offer me that's better?

I have offered many more lucrative opportunities on this blog, such as panhandling, watching the Simpsons, drinking beer, doing nothing, sleeping. Do you need more suggestions?

Panhandling, doing nothing & sleeping... well, that's why you're who you're and your blog speaks volumes about you. I don't need any suggestion from your kind whatsoever not even if it were a matter of life and death. If I were to die, I would rather die at my own hand than at yours.

Anonymous,

Zero is better than a negative. It's funny how uplines tell you to avoid negative but most IBOs bottom line is a negative - because of the tools expenses.

Joecool, you know why you're a failure... you're the kind of man who's irresponsible for his actions, the kind of man who does things without setting goals, the kind of man who blames others for his own failures therefore, you become a failure yourself and may I add, a spoiled failure. So, have fun at it, it definitely seems that this is the game that you're best at.

JoeCool you are a zero and a negative!

Joecool said...

Anonymous, can you kindly point out where I have blamed others for any failure? In fact, I said I was doing a lot better after I left Amway. :P

It's funny that these anonymous commentators keep visiting my blog and making comments when they think I have no clue about what I am talking about. Maybe I know more about what I am talking about than you would care to know?

If anyone was interested in Amway and read Joecool's blog, I'd imagine that they are more likely to be put off by the anonymous supporters viriolic posts than any of Joecool posts.

Precisely, it has to make you wonder just why are they so up in arms? If the business is so grand, if it's so amazing that critics don't want anyone to know that they enrolled, tried and failed, due to their own laziness, then what to they have to be so protective about?

Critics make the business look bad, to be sure, but Apologist's do a much better job by posting nonsense, not being able to back up their claims of success, and simply getting angry at critics arguements.

Here's a hint Amway apologists, notice how no one is bashing McDonalds or Walmart to the same extent as Amway.

Because McDonalds and Walmart actually WORKS.

McDonalds and Walmarts is an entrepreneurship, where lot of revenue is required to get its Franchise. Amway is a common man's Franchise. All Amway is doing is bring the concept of direct selling and building a business....a franchise for a common man. I'm a Amway business owner and i'm not angry or frustrated by reading any of the above critics. No business in the world gives you a franchise with such minimum investment. i don't believe the big words about the business because in every field and profession you earn when you work. Amway is not a lottery ticket that u invest and become rich. Best wishes to my fellow business owners and thank You people for your critics, they make me more enthusiastic and fuels my positive attitude. it makes me proud that at-lest my business gives dreams and btw you can drink been even if you are in the business....Amway dosent stop you....god bless

A bright new attitude is great! Did you make any money in Amway? No?

Amway is not good for everyone.

I gained self respect, confidence but lost the precious time which I could have spent with my family and was never profitable in 5 years though I attained position of Silver.

I have been a IBO for about 2 months. I have yet to earn a check. I do have faith. The business is what you make of it. Im trying to get frinds and family interested in products. The ribbon gift cards are nice and appealing. I hope to get my success in amway by doing business to bussiness. Products are expensive, but XS energy drinks are very enjoyable and give me a the boost I look for in a energy drink. The twist tubes are another great product and affordable at the retail end. You just have to find your niche in the market. I hope to sell lots of XS and sports nutrition. I was presented with this oppurtunity and I will pursue it earning success on the way. My self image has grew, I have more positive attitude and my motivation has increased. All in all, if amway doesnt work for me, my money and time spent was worth the intel, and eye opener from where I was. Your upline is their to help you in many ways, because when you make it, they make it.

Anonymous, you have yet to earn a check? Are you paying for training to learn how to build an Amway business? If so, you are on your way to financial losses.

Hey, guys , iam posting for the first time on the blog( too many anonymous)...

I saw rude comments , but you handled it well.

I am a new IBO , a week has passed since I joined, I made 20 $ till now, I gave it a try and I think I will make what i gave in the trial period .

About products, somebare a bit costly , but can be retailed without problems.

I hate the ribbon pack , I checked the prices of individual items and it was cheaper to get on the web(even for my self)

I suggest everyone to try it , everyone has a forte, try it . If you succeed ,nothing better. If you dont, you will not loose anything.Trust me, the meetings will help you grow as a person

Anonymous said...

NEWS FLASH: I DON'T NEED AMWAY MEETINGS TO HELP ME GROW AS A PERSON. I GET THAT BY GOING TO CHURCH TWICE A WEEK FOR FREE. WHY CAN'T YOU KOOL-AID-DRINKING AMBOTS UNDERSTAND THAT??!!

Boy. . . Am I glad I got out of that years ago. I signed up in 1994 and quit in 1999, as a DD. With that pin I made an average of about minus $500 a month I guess, roughly negative 6000 a year. All the time I wasted running around at night spinning the circles and traveling to conventions - is priceless.
I have managed to forget that nightmare. Tonight I was sleepless and began wondering whatever became of "the business".
I am so grateful that in my stupidity I still had a bit of common sense and a strong instinct of survival.
I am sad to see from these posts that listening to reason is still an impossibility for the active distributors. The system is that effective in brainwash.

Amway isn't for everyone but its for the people that are willing to lie, and settle to be someone they never were before, and I mean lie because uplines will tell you to sell your products and tell people i need it because i need to get out of debt, i need help getting through school, i need help with paying for bills while i have children....its ridiculous. if you want to become a nagging sales person and alienate yourself from your friends and family, all for the dream of expensive cars and houses, go for it...it is for some people, but not everyone thinks you need expensive cars and housing to be happy! they change your entire thinking into just MONEY...they make it like they care but they only care about the points your bringing in. That is their concern and they are so ate up in it they are willing to send you to functions that are "christian" related, to make you THINK you are doing something GOOD, well doing something good isn't nagging people to buy products that are five times more expensive than at the store..that in itself is a rip off. Good luck to those who try and those that make it by selling themselves...but you are definitely not a failure if you don't try it, or just quit it. There is nothing wrong with a weekly work and paycheck, it builds character in a person. When its all said and over you can't bring any of it with you when you die!

I am a new IBO and I made a profit of 200.00 more or less but I am not a salesperson nor do I care to talk to strangers. I want to stop but my upline uses guilt trips on me and states: so you are gonna give up on your dreams..." She also stated earlier this week that whatever my downlines get as pv I get a slab of that as a bonus pv and there is a tinge of a loop hole as one would call it. She slipped up and described it as a pyramid, now I really want out. It is not for me or my family because we went into the hole just starting up. I am broke and a church friend had to help us out with food and christmas gifts because tht was how broke I was. Don't f*ck with children on Christmas.
