Why Most Amway IBOs Can't Build A Business?

Building an Amway business. That's what many IBOs set out to do, except they don't know how to build a business, and based on IBO behavior and the things they say and do, it makes me wonder what their upline actually knows about building a business. A typical business owner will get started, and needs people to know that their business is there.

When you open a store or a restaurant, you may not make a lot of money intitially because not enough customers know about your store and you have not yet built a reputation. New customers who have a good experience are likely to return for more, and they are also likely to tell others about your store. Over time, you create a customer base and your weekly sales become consistent and somewhat predictable. Conversely, if customers have a bad experience, they are likely to tell others as well.

In the Amway business, many IBOs have no idea about building a business. They are shown great (apparent) wealth by upline, and then told that their business activity consists of showing the plan, listening to standing order and attending functions. Most of an IBO's activity, as prescribed by upline, costs money instead of generating sales. Some uplines do teach IBOs to sell items, but more often than not, it is not taught as a priority.

What's more, as I said, a new business will get repeat customers when a customer has a good experience. What do you suppose happens when IBOs lie or trick people into attending Amway meetings, or deceive people about their business, or make up wild stories about perfect water? What happens when you embellish the truth about success and then cannot provide an answer when a recruit asks and IBO how they are doing in the Amway business? What happens when an IBO tells a potential recruit that he or she is a loser or stupid for not joining Amway? Would you return to a store if they called you stupid as you were leaving? What if you were called a loser?

These are the reasons why IBOs in general cannot get enough customers to sustain a consistent and predictable amount of sales, and why over the years, Amway has at best a spotty reputation. Just the mention of the name Amway and you may get funny looks from people. It is why certain internet zealots promoting Amway do more harm than good.

I'm not convinced its about selling products. Apparently only 5 percent of sales are retail. This is about continuous recruiting and creating the multiplier effect. Rather than focusing on sales one should focus on identifying leaders and motivatinng the group with them. Avoid of course spending on tools.

business 101: you can't have a business without customers, and you can't have customers without a product to sell.

I think you are right. But this is not a business. Its what I said above. People who make money in this realised what it is and just did it. Now is that good or bad , right or wrong? I don't know and I don't care. But its not for me.

me either! :)

I live in Trinidad and Tobago. Amway is a booming business here and I assure you that lots of people buy the products and have great testimonials about the products. To be successful in any business requires hard work and the right attitude. Your sales, your purchases, your downline purchases= $$$$$$

The problem is repeat sales are not happening and if not, we may look at the Internet as the cause. If people can order online, why would they go back to the original distributor?

I have built the business it works like any business you have to work it. Those people that comment negatively about it must have never hit the road to help others. Also The Corporation is debt free and never fails to pay a bonus check to an IBO. As you perform so shall you bonus. Also the Amway business is still growing for more than 5O years. Three generations to prove their success. Just go to WWW.markerman.com. The Victor family proves it works despite all the negative people that make comments. You cannot argue the success they have had and continue to have. The old saying the dogs still bark but the caravan moves on! I am proud to say I am an MMP IBO.

Amway being debt free is a myth. One that has been perpetuated for many years. Here's the evidence:

Amway works for the Victor family while most of the downline lose their shirts. Are you one of them?

I build the AMWAY business very successfully and it is a great way to earn extra income...... people with negative things to say are the ones who probably tried the business but did no work or heard that crap from other people. i came from a very humble beginning and AMWAY gave me my life back...it works nomatter what people say. how will you know if you don't do it yourself.. don't listen to others, they just dont want to see you succeed...

You have said you built an Amway business successfully. Many people say it but so far, nobody has proven it.

IT pays NIckels......Suppose you are a eagle 10 ppl and if everyone does 150BV you have 1500*.18= $270 for whole group of 10. and max you can make is $100 by recruting and amnaging 10ppl. Is it worth the time?

Good point and once you pay for a function like Spring or Summer conference, that $100 and more is gone, not to mention the cds, books and other fees that you pay for the priviledge of selling amway products.

If there is trouble with IBOs and their businesses, I am inclined to thin kthat there is a problem with training and exposure. The editorial on this page suggests that Amyway is skiddish or shady which is disingenuous. Check the Fortune 500 listings, travel to meet and gain knowledge from current IBOS in Canada and the US, explore how uplines train and motivate new IBOs. What may be lacking in the Trinidad and Tobago leg of the company that has changed the lives of others elsewhere, could ruin it for all other Trinbagonians. If people are willing to invest in costumes for carnival, which have become nothing more than the size of undergarments why would they not want to invest in their future? Shopping online is here and not going away( for those who dislike it) would it not be profitable to get onboard now than to wait until every other country has? If you like genetically modified consumables then stay where you are but if you want real wholesome products that respect the natural body functions and supports it then take a closer look at how Nutrilite is made, from start to package.

Shopping online is fin except that I can get just about anything Amway sells for a cheaper price elsewhere.

It doesn't look like you understand the compensation plan at all. Anything can sound bad when speaking from ignorance.

Joecool said...

I understand the compensation plan just fine. The vast majority receive zero from Amway and out of the ones who receive a bonus, the vast majority receive less than $15 a month and fraction of 1% make decent money. Not hard to understand at all.

Joe, this is what I predicted for you are few weeks ago. More and more Amway defenders are showing up here to argue. This can only mean that the Amway Corporation (or one of its LOS subsystems) has decided to go on the attack.

So far it's been an inept campaign. All your opponents can do is spout the usual canned Amspeak bullshit, or try to sound reasonable and polite as they come up with idiotic "defenses" of the Amway Plan. In every instance, you have blown them out of the water with your succinct and clear replies.

What this shows is desperation on Amway's part.

Joecool said...

Many Amway defenders come and try to make a point and then insult me when their points are rebutted. They might actually do themselves more harm than good. LOL

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR LIVING NOW JOECOOOOL? AFTER TRYING TO STOP PEOPLE FROM DOING AMWAY?

What a stupid asshole this "Unknown" at 10:04 PM is. He doesn't even know how to release the caps-lock on his keyboard.

Also, everyone knows that Joe Cool is now comfortably retired, and living a life of ease and contentment. He runs this website and blog to warn potential innocent victims about the scam and racket that is called "Amway." It's a public service! He has saved thousands of people from making the mistake of joining up with this rotten pyramid scheme.

To sum up, he has a secure income, valuable rental properties, and plenty of financial resources. And he's freely volunteering his time and energy to help others.

That's what Amway assholes pretend to be doing -- "helping others." What bullshit! They are trying to exploit others, and they are not doing anything real for themselves, since 99% of Amway IBOs don't make a dime.

So get lost, "Unknown." Or else tell us what the hell you are doing in your little dipshit Amway fake business.
