Where's The Amway Success?

I heard a great comment from a commentator on a related Amway blog. Basically, he said if IBOs were so successful, people would just naturally be attracted. And that's true! Where I live, the local electric company is an attractive place to work with a good salary and benefits package. When there's a handful of openings, you might get as many as 6,000 people applying for these positions. When the federal government hires for the post office, you get thousands of applicants for a handful of jobs as well. But instead, we hear of Amway IBOs tricking people or lying to people just to get them to see the Amway plan. The best attraction would be people actually making money but that is rare in Amway.

IBOs often have to justify their positions. The common ones are how Amway products are concentrated, or they have magical ingredients in their vitamins. It is my position that if these products were so good and the opportunity actually produced successful IBOs, there would be no need to be deceptive about the products or opportunity. The products could easily be marketed. In fact, customers would be seeking IBOs to find the products and there would be lines of people waiting to see the opportunity. If the Amway system and products were s good as some IBOs claim, the masses would be flowing to your presentations, not having to be deceived into attending an opportunity meeting.

Instead, IBOs themselves are the primary consumers of Amway products. Many IBOs are deceptive when inviting people to see the Amway plan. Some prospects are outright lied to when recruited for the Amway opprtunity. The curiosity approach is still used by many, because mentioning "Amway" is more likely to get you funny looks than interest. If what I am writing is not true, why do IBOs need to deceive people? Why don't some IBOs open their books and display the financial success they claim to have? Why so secretive? Why aren't there hoards of new diamonds and emeralds each month? Instead, you mainly hear of the Amway growth in foreign countries. Most likely because the Amway name and reputation has not yet been soiled as it has in the US and Canada.

In the US, I see primarily the same old diamonds who were in control of the functions and systems from more than 12 years ago. In fact, factoring in diamonds who quit or dropped out, I believe there are fewer diamonds now than when I was an IBO. Some of these diamonds also had some apparent financial difficulties. The opportunity is far from how it's promoted. Success speaks louder than words, and where North American Amway success is concerned, the silence is deafening!

Want to see ? Come to South Bay SF on 9/05 and 9/06 for our meeting. 5 diamonds will show up and giving class. Two of them are new diamond this year . Come and check it out. Oh we don't charge for 200+ dollar , only $20 each day.

Well. Sad for you. I was traveling from las to nyc then I am in San Jose now , meeting diamond at each place. Those new diamonds are very young , in their 30s or early 40s. I met one old diamond (EDC) two new diamonds this years. I will be in hong kong , they even have a diamond (such a small place) .

it is true most amway product are consume by IBOs because whoever buy more than $400 per year (or even less) will be better or sign up as a IBO . That's why all my customers (or one per family ) are IBOs.

So are you traveling for business? Aren't those expensive business expenses, not to mention your time?

This travel has been set before I start amway . I meet my family in New York , and I fly back to Hong Kong in from SFO. Totally less than 10 hours out of 20 days are spend on amway activities . It is a part time business , you can do it whenever you want to. I skip the function this weekend as I don't want to change my flight (it was booked three months ago) . No one really blame me on it.

In my days, the upline would consider you "not core" for missing a meeting. A true "winner" would "do whatever it takes" to attend ALL meetings. All means all. You would not be considered a "serious" IBO in my days.

Here's some food for thought about Amway IBOs and other salespeople who use a curiosity approach when selling a service, product, idea, or business opportunity:

Using a curiosity approach is a lot like giving someone a wrapped present or gift. They don't now what's in side, they know they might or might not even like it, but they're sure curious and mildly excited to find out what it is.

I don't find gift-wrapped presents or spontaneous surprises from a spouse or significant other at all distasteful. One, I appreciate their thoughtfulness in presenting me with a gift. Two, after opening the present, it might have been the best gift in the world I never knew I always wanted.

In light of this, I don't think the vast majority of Amway IBOs who use a curiosity approach are out to run con-jobs on people. All they know is that they're excited, they have tremendous hope of the opportunity to build a better future, they believe it's possible because other people have done it successfully and have the evidence to prove it, and they honestly want to offer other people the same exciting opportunity for the potential of building a better, brighter future. "Hope through soap!"

Yes, many IBOs don't know that they are deceiving people. They believe their upline who are spreading the lies and deceit. Newbies often don't know any better.
