Financial Freedom! That was one of the major battle cries when I was recruited for the Amway business. You gain control of time and money by creating residual or passive income. That is true financial freedom. You wake up at noon, no job, and just do whatever you please, whenever you please. I remember the speaker saying that broke/unemployed people also had freedom, but it was different because they were broke and could not afford to go golfing or do other activities that required money on a regular basis.
I am assuming that this is still the case for many IBOs. Of course, upline leaders may toss in a disclaimer that you don't get rich quick as an IBO, but the pitch apparently still contains the financial freedom and residual income theme, based on my experiences with IBOs. IBOs still think they will be rich. Also, 2-5 years sounds like "get rich quick" to me.
But hey, financial freedom would be a great thing, don't get me wrong. Who wouldn't want to be 35 years old with enough cash to never have to work again? I mean I could spend some time imagining how fun that would be. It would also be fun to imagine what you would do with all the cash if you hit the powerball lottery as well. But for the starry eyed IBOs, I simply have a few questions for you to ponder. A few realistic questions that you should be asking yourself. The answers to these questions will tell you a lot.
1. Who in your group or upline truly has achieved financial freedom? Have you seen their financials or simply a display of wealth such as mansions and fancy cars? Mansions and fancy cars could just be a massive pile of debt. Not too long ago, there apparently were diamonds who had their homes foreclosed, and a triple diamond who was in bankruptcy proceedings. Find out if anyone in your group/upline has actually achieved the success that they are using to recruit you. Also, if they are financially free, why do they work at function after function? Traveling and speaking might not be a traditional job, but it is still work, nonetheless.
2. Even if you find someone who is retired and golfing everyday because of Amway residual income, ask yourself what the likelihood is that you will be able to achieve the same results. If diamonds are still working, what chance do you have of success if you are new or experienced in Amway, and have few or no downline. More than likely, your chance of winning the lottery will be greater than your chance of achieving a significant residual income from your Amway business. Also, I don't know of any Amway retirees who built their business once and walked away with any significant residual income from Amway. Do you?

The diamonds will tell you that they still work, not for money, but to maintain the many friendships and social links that they have developed with their down-line over the years.

This freedom thing is silly. Why want to do things that cost money. Surely you can also do many enjoyable things that dont cost money. Walk read sing write garden play musique cook paint help old people tidy the community. With money you can maybe go to exclusive golf courses but you still need to wait your tee off time. Im sure around the world there are more non rich people walking beaches than rich people.
I have a brother-in-law that was sucked into Amway about 22 yrs. ago and dragged my sister and kids down the Amway gutter with this cult. They made Diamond a few years ago but haven't maintained it. Lost their home, have several IRS liens, no real future financial security. They still travel and make a few bucks "brainwashing" at conferences a few times a year and peddle CD's, everything else to profit from the gullible lost sheeple they con into buying. Those "tools" of the con-game trade. They hide stuff like this creatively from the IRS, they don't walk the beaches of the world but hunker down in the cold Midwest winters, budgeting their bills like most middle class people. These people live a grand façade of fake wealth and connive to deceive others into "joining" the cult. They have alienated our entire family and have no loyalty to anyone - except the AmGods. Business is declining in US and it's now affecting their bottom line earnings (residual income keeps declining). I can't see many people sustaining the downward spiral of Amway. I think the pyramid, as a whole, is about to collapse. It won't be a day too soon for this evil cult. I've seen the ruined lives from their finances, personal relationships and their cult mentality.

Good point. I live near one of the nicest beaches in the world (Lanikai) and I enjoy walking there and don't need Amway to do it.
Thanks for sharing. I do believe that diamonds basically live middle class lifestyles. The Amway income plus income from functions and tools is gross and does not factor in business expenses, taxes, medical insurance, etc. After those expenses are factored in, diamonds likely have a middle class income with the illusion of being wealthy.
With amway you could not walk that beach. You would need to be put out trying to contact and sponsor
So why dont you tell us who that diamond is or at least what size his group is now. So people can relate better

That's what I believe. Amway diamonds are probably busier than people who work full time because once you let up, people will quit faster than you can sponsor and your income will drop. But diamonds need a good story and some pictures so they can pretend that they have all the time and money they can want.
Oh, I'd love to tell the world but for the sake of my sister and her kids, I'm not going to humiliate them to the world. They've suffered enough with this cult. If I knew or thought it would make a difference in getting them out, by all means, I'd shout it to the world. Joecool, you should know and appreciate where I'm coming from on this. I'd tell you privately but not on a world-wide format.
